BRASS INDIVIDUALS:
Albert Brass is the son of Wiard Ehmer Brass and Meemke Amanda Roos.  He was called "Uncle Pete".  He married Alvina (?).  Children-Marlene, Calvin, Kenneth, Linda.
Andy Brass is the son of Wiard Ehmer Brass and Meemke Roos.  He "died young".
Ehmer Brass is the son of Wiard Ehmer Brass and Meemke Amanda Roos.  He married #1 Leulea (?) and #2 Gladys (?).  No children.  He was murdered in Los Angeles in December of 1967.
Ehme Janssen Bras was born in 1778 at Hamswehrum, Ostfrld, Hannover, Preussen.  He is the son of Jan Ehmen Bras and Ettje Luebberts. He married Hilke Wiards around 1803-1805.  Son: Wiard Ehmer Brass, Sr.
Ella Brass was born October 26, 1882 at Oregon, IL and died July 16, 1947 at Worthington, MN.  She is the daughter of Wiard Ehmer Brass and Meemke Amanda Roos.  She married George Elsing.  Children: Minnie Amanda, Amanda Minnie, Jeanette Viola, Willie Ehmen, John George, Lillian Hattie, Phyllis Evelyn, Geraldine Martha.  [I-1]
Elmer Brass is the son of Wiard Ehmer Brass and Meemke Roos.  He married Stena (?).  Children- Faye, Maynard.
Hattie Brass is the daughter of Wiard Ehmer Brass and Meemke Amanda Roos.  She married Wilbur Ebeling.  Children- Amanda, Dolly, Calvin, Weird, Vivian.  
Jan Ehmen Bras married Ettje Luebberts.  Son: Ehme Janssen Bras
John E. Brass was born April 1, 1887 and died December 2, 1973.  He is the son of Wiard Ehmer Brass and Meemke Amanda Roos.  He married Mae Kirsebom.  Chidren- Neva, Johnny, Doris, Florence, Amanda.
Martha Brass is the daughter of Wiard Ehmer Brass and Meemke Amanda Roos.  She married George "Dutch" Remoff.  Children- Roger, Harold, Phillip.
Memke Brass is the daughter of Wiard Ehmer Brass and Meemke Roos.  She "died young".
Wiard Ehmer Brass, Sr. was born November 20, 1811 at Hamswehrum, Ostfrld, Hannover, Preussen.  He is the son of Ehme Janssen Bras and Hilke Wiards.  Other name variations:  Wiard, Weert, Ehmen, Bras  [IGI].  He married Hilke Klaassen Joesten on March 19, 1842 at Hamswehrum, Hannover, Preussen  [P-1, IGI].   Children: Klaas, Ehme, Aeilt, John, Siebentje, Wiard Jr., Hilke.
Wiard Ehmer Brass, Jr. was born February 19, 1856 at Hansunhaven, Germany and died February 13, 1935.  He is the son of Wiard Ehmer Brass, Sr. and Hilke Klaassen Joesten.   He arrived in America at the age of 16 (with his sister Siebentje, who was 18) on October 12, 1872 aboard a ship named Weser*.  He married Meemke "Amanda" Roos.  Children-  Ella, Hattie, John, William Klass, Martha, Ehmer, Albert, Elmer, and two children who died young - Andy and Memke. 

I have a copy of a paper with the following written by hand: 
I, Wiard Ehmer Brass was born in Hansunhaven, Aut, Eurden, East Friesia, Provinz Hannover, Germany, on the 19th day of February, 1856.  My father's name was also Wiard Ehmer Brass, born in the year 1813 in the same town as above described. My mother was born in 181(7?) in Mauslagt, East Friesia, Germany.  Her name was Hilke Joesten.   [P-1]
William K. Brass is the son of Wiard Ehmer Brass and Meemke Amanda Roos.  He married Effie Velma Brockway on December 19, 1917.  Children- Helen, Lyman, Bessie.
