And here's what I do for a living...
I have the greatest job in the world...I dig in the dirt and get paid for it...
Research projects:

Senior thesis biology (
At Fort Lewis College): How changes in the Earth's magnetic field can cause extinctions of animals.

Senior thesis geology (
At Fort Lewis College): A description of a few fossils from near Durango, Colorado.

Master's thesis chemistry (
At the University of Wyoming): How the formation of uranium ore deposits can destroy vertebrate fossils.

Ph.D. dissertation geology (
At the University of Wyoming): A description of a new mammal fauna (approximately 60 million years old) in Wyoming.

Postdoctoral research study (
At the Florida Museum of Natural History):
       (1) Climate and vegetation change in North America since the last glacial maximum (20,000 years ago)...through study of stable isotopes of carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen in tooth enamel..
       (2) Diets of fossil and modern manatees...through study of stable isotopes of carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen in tooth enamel.
Protocols for isotope analysis:

(1)
Sampling the raw enamel
(2)
