The initiate is the bottom rung of the Paladic ladder. Just being accepted in it self is an honor not to be taken lightly. He is a student that will be mentored to a specific ranking member; this may include being mentored to the Patriarch. There will only by TWO initiates at any given time. This time will be used to hone all of the skills that will be called upon to successfully portray a Paladin. Your role-play abilities and melee skills will be tested in many ways both obvious and the not so obvious. This is still an introductory period to be used to determine if this is the right place and path for you. An initiate's role-play and melee skills will determine their length of indenture at this rank. Once his skills, abilities, and development have met the requirements and approval of his superior officers he will be eligible for advancement. There is a minimum of two months within this rank but there is no upper limit. If both slots for initiates are filled and there is another wishing to join, he can follow the guide for petitioning and may be accepted. He will be added to the rolls but will serve in the Army under their hierarchy. They can advance in ranks they're through the approval and restrictions laid out under that division of the military. When a position opens they can request their discharge and join the order as an initiate. If they were not accepted prior but asked to wait till an opening occurs then they would fall under the rules regarding initial petitioning. The High Paladin will decide advancement for Initiate to Paladin after recommendation by the initiates mentor. Upon receiving this, the High Paladin will consult with the Patriarch for final judgment.
Uniform:
- Plain armor of leather, studded or ringmail, or chainmail design with chain coif or leather cap. There is to be no mixing of types. This means if the initiate chooses to wear leather armor then his entire uniform will be in leather armor and not partial ringmail or chainmail.
- Sash dyed to match the color of their mentors cloak.
- No mounts at this time unless authorized for specific situations by a High Paladin and/or Patriarch.
- Must maintain positive karma at a minimum.
- There is no limit to the number of artifacts used. This includes weapons, shields, jewelry, tailsmen and armor. All artifacts must be approved by the Patriarch before allowed use. There are strict rules as to the type of artifacts allowed. Any artifact that does not fit the "look" is NOT allowed. For example, bright green chain tunics, ancient samurai helm, chaos shield, samurai weapons, etc. Use good judgement before any use of an artifact and have it approved before equiping.
There are no exceptions to the above. This means you will not deviate from the above uniform guidelines. For example, no robes, tunics, platemail, or any other type of clothing or armor not described above. |
