For 16 years this album remained unreleased in the USA, this was rectified in April 1998 with the release of the Remaster. For some odd reason the Remaster's cover swaps the picture from the original album's back cover for use on the front cover (and vice-versa). The Japanese release is incredibly rare, usually selling for around $150. Cover scans (L-R) Original Euro / Japanese / Remaster...

This might be the biggest piece of shit ever recorded..."

Because Eric was a drummer there is not too much of a separate discography for him. As a tribute to him I will attempt to detail his carreer here and his notable recordings and songs. NOTE: The solo album graphic presented here is a combination of two currently available on the net. The pseudo album cover is available at KISS Asylum, and the painting, commissioned by Eric himself, by Eraldo Carugati, the artist who did the original solo album covers, comes from a poster currently available from the KISS Freaks site (www.kissfreaks.com). I have combined the two for use here.

A2. I Cry At Night (2:01) - Carr
B1. Your Turn To Cry (2:09) - Carr
Some of the earliest recorded Eric Carr, who plays harmonica, tamborine and sings. It was released as an independent single, in an issue of about 25 copies which were distributed to record labels. Track 1 was included on a Tribute Album, KAOL2, released in early 1998. Cool! Track 2 was released on the reissue of KAOL Music From The Folder ('99).

Don't know much about this 7" single. Look at A&C Memorobilia's site for the concert poster which details 01 as being a MNFT track... Also available as a 12" single and included on the 1977 Bionic Boogie LP. I really doubt that the actualy recordings have anything to do with Eric apart from the fact that Eric's then band often appeared as Bionic Boogie and would probably have performed this. More than likely the drummer on these tracks is Allen Schwartzberg...

B3. One Step At A Time (06:28) - Henderson/Dozier
Produced by Lewis Merenstein and Ralph Moss. Assistant producer Howard Merritt. Recorded at the Sound Place, NY. Eric is creditted as Paul Caravello on drums and backing vocals. This record is extremely rare and hard to find. "Bionic Boogie" actually an alternative touring name for Mother Nature Father Time and featured some of the same people Eric had been working with for most of the 1970's, yet "Bionic Boogie" is mentioned nowhere on the packaging. There are two versions of the packaging: the spine on one is sliver/grey with black lettering; and on the other it is beige, a wrap around of the cover graphic. There are also two pressings, one by Casablanca and one by PolyGram, both at the same time. Additionally, I am finally able to confirm that regular release versions of the album, copies *NOT* stamped "promo" on the cover or album, *WERE* released, but these are far more rare than the promotional version judging by the number that have turned up. There are also copies which list the wrong release code (NBLP7173, which was actually Don McClean). Other band members on the record:
Paul Caravello_________Drums/Backing Vocals
John Henderson_________Guitar/Backing Vocals/Lead Vocals
on A2, B2 & B3.

Eddie Dozier___________Backing Vocals/Lead Vocals on A1 & B1.

Larger high resolution copys of the above images are
available. Zoom in on the rear cover image to read the back credits (click on

Sherman in Black Diamond, 5 or six copies of the album exist - this I know to
be incorrect as I know the location of 13 copies, I myself own 3 and sold 6
others. Other sources close to the Caravello family put the number closer to
fifty, this I agree with though it doesn't affect the rarity of the album!

36. Off the air stuff with Eric...
While this may not be an "official" product, it is too good, too poignant to pass up including here. Created by Tony Mal (who seems to be on Hell of a dedicated guy!) for broadcast on WCWP 88.1 FM in 1992, the package features a 1989 interview plus, for the first time ever, the two Cellermen tracks! Coverage is provided for all the songs Eric was involved with, and his history. It really is a marvelous celebration of his life! The fantastic packaging features the famed Eric Carr solo style painting.

1950, July 12 - Paul born in Brooklyn, New York.
1950s - While in grade school at PS-159 plays Scarecrow, in the Wizerd of Oz,
and gets stuck on the tree...
1964, Autumn - Paul begins studying cartooning at the Manhattan High School of
Art and Design.
1964, Autumn - After six weeks studying cartooning, where he was unable to "draw
on demand", Paul switches courses to study photography... or was it drinking?
1968, June - Paul graduates from high school only gaining a general Diploma due
to the loss of direction during the previous four years.
1968 - Paul's earliest proper band, The Cellermen, record two demos, both of

1970 - Paul works for the Royal Tobacco Company delivering cigarettes for
international export at Kennedy Airport in NY.
1970 - Paul teams up with John (Guitar) and Sarita (Vocals) Henderson to form
Salt & Pepper with three other musicians. The other three are African-American
musicians, hence the band name. These three stay together for the 1970's in a
band with an often changing line-up and name!
1973, February - A photo Paul appears in the centerfold of the New York Daily

George Chase, and 22 members of the audience. Paul saves the life of the band's
vocalist, Sarita Henderson.
1974, July 1 - As a result of the fire, both Paul and John Henderson, appear in
the New York Times recounting the events of the previous night.

time on CBS' Sunday morning TV News program, "Sunday".
1974, July/August - Creative Talent Associates, Creation's management, organize
a benefit concert featuring many of their acts to help provide Creation with
replacement equipment for that lost in the fire.

York.
1979, Autumn - Using the stage name Lightning, MNFT release a 5 track album on
the Casablanca label, "Lightning"...

finally quits MNFT to explore new options. The band members who all seem to
agree that they were going nowhere also move off in search of new ideas.
1979, December - Paul becomes a member of a 4-piece rock combo, called Flasher,
doing cover songs...

info-kits.
1980, June 18 - The day after the deadline date for submissions, Paul finally
submits his resume/demo tape pack, housed in the famous bright-orange folder to
Aucoin Management.
1980, June 19 - Paul attends an interview with Bill Aucoin at his Madison Avenue

This really isn't very clear as to whether it really is Mark St. John. He did say that he had a CD coming out soon, but all of these tracks which are allegedly unreleased material are unrecognizable. If it really is him, then it's cool to get some material from his post-KISS career. I've also heard rumours about an official CD reissue of the White Tiger album - we'll see if either of these discs actually show up!

Other players include Vince Caliuto on drums; Tim Landers on bass; Blake Levinsohn on rhodes; Philippe Saisse on acoustic piano, keyboards (of various types); and Brenda Madison, R.A. Martin, Millie Whiteside, and Dede Washburn on backing vocals. Bruce is credited as "courtesy of Polydor Records", his then label with Blackjack, not to mention that Offord was Blackjack's producer.
