If you are a beginnner then you need the following steps to connect to the INTERNET.

1: Double click on MY COMPUTER and then on CONTROL PANNEl.

2: When you have opened CONTROL PANNEL Double click THE ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon. Go on the WINDOWS SETUP TAB and make sure that you have salected COMMUNICATIONS then you may be promted to RESTART your PC, click OK.

3: Now Double Click on DAIL UP NETWORKING icon in MY COMPUTER.

4: You would see an icon of MAKE NEW CONNECTION, Double click on it to sign up your PC for INTERNET. In appropriate place write the name of INTERNET CONNECTION YOU (must) TAKEN, then click NEXT and write the COUNTRY and AREA CODE and THE UIN number provided by your INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER (ISP) in appropriate places, click NEXT and INLAST click FINISH.

5: Now your PC will be able to connect to the INTERNET

6: Double the Icon of Connection To the NET..

7: If you are unable to connect then Double click on NETWORK icon in CONTROLPANNEL and make sure that your TCP/IP is installed. If it is not so then click on ADD and choose PROTOCOL and click ADD again, then select MICROSOFT and subly select TCP/IP. When you have installed TCP/IP then you may be promted to RESTART youtr PC, click OK.
