Monitors
Monitors are the living dinosaurs of the modern age! They hunt, the dig, they climb trees and can some species can easily grow to well over 2 meters in length. As adults they can deliver a nasty, painful and bloody bite with claws that can make deep scratches into human skin. All sounds a bit nasty, but these lizards are fascinating creatures and if cared for correctly, can make a great pet.
Monitors by nature are foraging animals, venturing into the open rarely. The love hiding in hollow trees and under rocks. As juveniles they will eat insects, but as they grow, a mixed diet of small rodents, birds and insects can be fed. You'll need a large vivarium to house these active creatures.
