SCAMS
Many webmasters use affiliate programs to earn money from their websites. But all too often the affiliate program is operated by a fraudster who has no intention of ever paying you. How do we know which programs are genuine? Only by sharing our experiences can we hope to get answers. Please use this site to find and share knowledge of both good and bad internet companie

ADAGENT
The latest big scam to affect countless webmasters across the globe.
They offered us 12 cents per click for banners or popups, no linking rules. Sounds like a Webmasters dream. So many of us were lured into using AdAgent on our sites. When a healthy balance was reached by most people the sting came. On Feb 27th 2001 all stats were magically transformed to zero. AdAgent offered no explanation or payment to anyone and suddenly claimed they were raising money for charity and their links began pointing to Children's Charity pages.
We very much doubt if these charities have or ever will receive any money, this sudden switch is obviously a very insidious way of trying to cover their tracks. All webmasters are already appalled at this fraud but the use of underprivileged children in this way disgusts us all.
We aim to gather as much information as possible and are already contacting those unwittingly involved and those in a position to help. Please help us stop these and other scams by sharing your experiences with us and checking the information available on this site.
Under Scrutiny
Basic Point We have many complaints of non-payment and no email replies. This is causing growing concern among us and it has been suggested that the time has come for everyone to file a complaint against them.
Affiliate Target Using their banners doesn't seem to do much good. They also do not answer emails.
ePilot Until we get a payment from them we remain very suspicious.
Adsenger Many complaints about this company.
BePaid A similar story to Adsenger
eCards.com Either a glitch in their system or the start of something sinister.
SilverClicks Apparently dumped all non-US members without warning.
Unique Surf Accused of non-payment and not answering emails.
Target Shop Many months and no payment so we are told.
Ignifuge A few complaints, let us know what you think.
Going Platinum Some suspicions, some recommendations. There has been an amazing response. Read all the details. UPDATED
Epipo Complaints of non-payment.
YoYoMail Paid email supposedly (if you get any)
TheMail Seems to be a lot of broken promises and non- payment.
Cool Registration Reports of members accounts being deleted with no explanation. The owners also run GetPaid4, PayingAd, Teknosurf, AdBroadcast and Prize Dispenser.
PayingAd Their viewbar is distributed illegally on unregistered software.
eToys Filed for bankruptcy a few days ago.
Rapid Gold Looks like another disappearing trick.
PayPal Scam
Paypal account holders have been receiving an email that says someone has paid them money. The name usually used is Betty Hill. There is a link provided to log in to their account and collect the money. The web page that comes up looks like paypal. The victim then enters their ID and password. That is the purpose of the scam. The victim is NOT on the paypal site but on a look-alike site. They have now given their id and password to a crook who will then log in to their paypal account and take whatever they can. If you get this email, do NOT use the link to go to your account. Always enter the URL yourself or pull it down from your favorites. If you have already gone to the fake Paypal from the email, go to the real one and change your password immediately. Check that there are no unfamiliar transactions.

ePilot (from a typical quote)
I've been with ePilot for around 9 months and never been paid. I have over $95 owing to me. I recently emailed them to ask when I would be paid.
ePilot's reply
Over the past couple of months, ePilot has been busy upgrading our payment system and we are currently in the process of issuing member payments. A portion of member payments has recently been sent out and we will continue to quickly process these payments until we're 100% caught up with all legitimate member earnings. Once that goal is achieved, we will begin to issue current member payments on the 15th of every month for any member who has exceeded at least $20.00 in member earnings.
We emailed eLiberation (parent company of ePilot) 23rd March 2001

We run a website supported by many webmasters and internet users around the globe.
Our purpose is to help them identify the honest internet traders and unmask the dishonest companies. We have many reports and complaints about your program, ePilot, and would like to offer a brief synopsys to you.
'I reached the minimum payment amount months ago and have never been paid' - this echoes in every complaint received.
Could we please ask you for a definitive statement on why so many payments are so long overdue and when these payments will be honoured? We would like to post this at our site for all visitors to read.
Another email to ePilot (23 March)
Sirs, I have had an earnings balance of well over the required minimum for many months and have yet to receive any payment. Others have told me of the same problem. Please tell me exactly when I will be paid. Is your company in financial trouble? Is your program just a scam? I look forward to your speedy reply
ePilot's reply
We apologize for the delay in your payment. We have made significant progress in catching up on member payments. ePilot has implemented new procedures to enable us to catch up faster. Once we get caught up we will resume our normal monthly payment schedule.
We at ePilot are committed to paying all member earnings obtained within our posted guidelines.

Adsenger
Promises up to 10.00 an ad on a small viewscreen...small icon. That's good, but...in 8 moths I have only recieved 2 ads for a total of 60 cents. I know MANY other people who say the same.
BePaid
Be Paid is another "paid to view ads".......been a member quite sometime and only viewed 2 ads for 35 cents...now where are all the ads and money..plus most of the time can't even get into my account
GreetingCards.com
I am a member of greeting cards.com. I have been doing pretty good with it, close to requesting my frst check and all of a sudden hits and cards as being sent are not recorded on my stats page. Any emails go with no response and it's been like this for a week. I'm still waiting ....................
YoYoMail
Yoyomail advertises paid to read email...as much as 10.00 per email. Their site is nice. They offer games as well, and it's easy to navigate and use. As well as getting paid to read email you also receive a free email address for life, you don't have to join to use the free email service. The email service is also html capable. The only thing is....they never send any emails! In one year I have received 2 emails that paid me 5 cents each. I have changed my mail preferences a couple of time, and still no paid emails. I did ask a couple of times and they told me that I would be getting more paid emails soon (6 months ago) but as of yet have seen none. They do respond to emails from affiliates in a timely fashion. I would not reccommend yoyomail except as a free email address and service. I have spoken with people who say they have received a few emails, but nothing like yoyomail promises. Most of the people I have asked about yoyomail are like
me....little to no email.
TheMail.com
.........currently I am having trouble getting paid from Themail.com. I had tried to cash out last December,
Then they marked my account unpayable, then I have sent them numerous emails requesting the status of my check at the same time I have been sending email to their support team about their system is deteroirating. (whole other issue)

Not Affiliates But Worth Mentioning. This Is Where You Can Get Lotsa Traffic!

EZHits4U We have personal experience of their quick reaction to emails and tech problems. The program works well too.

I Love Clicks We've had several good reports including a problem fixed within 3 hours of emailing them.

ClickThru Network
This Company is highly recommended has had few minor problems. If you decide to cash your credits (If you go hard out you can earn 120 credits) you will get alot out of your work: current rate: 1 credit=1 cent.

Hitharvester This company get the fastest credits into visitors, but the downside is that not all hitharvester users can speak english!!!

LottoForever:
Comment: Be paid to click. There are many Pay-to-Click companies on the ground, but I do not like them too much: you have to click a lot and you get paid a little. Anyway, with this US company based in India, you can earn almost twice of what you can earn with the others. Every click is paid about 0.07-8$ (do not believe all of what they write on their site, they promise about 0.18$ per click but this is not true) and you can click about 12 banners every 12 hours (you must stay on a site for at least 20 seconds). You can earn about 85 points every 12 hours, and you can redeem at 6000 points (in this case you would need only 25-30 days to redeem if you go on twice a day).
So, clicking for 6 minutes every day, you can earn about 30$ per month (very good). Clicking for 6 minutes every 12 hours (twice every day), you can earn up to 60$ per month and more! CLICK HERE to join.
-- I received my check (20$, earned in 2 months) at the end of March. They do pay, there is no doubt about this.
GLOBAL: 80/100 GREAT!!!
Platin Clicks:
Comment: Paid to click banners. You get 11 banners to click every day and receive 0.01- per click. You must stay at least 10 seconds on the site you have clicked. CLICK HERE to join.
NOTE: If you click for 15-20 minutes every day, you earn about 0.4$, or 12$ per month. Since you can request the cheque at 30$, you need about 60 days to redeem. Cannot be compared to the fantastic Lottoforever (there are a lot of clicks to do!), but it is still quite good.
-- I request my check of 30$ the 28 February. It was sent the 5 March (from a Swiss Bank) and received by me the 12 March.
GLOBAL: 60/100
Platin Clicks
Epilot:
Comment: you are paid about 0.03 $ per search, or per click in the links in the main page (or in the sub-links in the other pages). You may earn a lot of money, but if they think you are cheating, they close your account. About 50% of users have been paid, while the others have seen their accounts closed. Maybe you had better to stay in the limit of 1-1.5$ per day (and click almost a link on ANY page). Anyway, they do not send checks easily, since they control EVERY account before paying. In this way, you could wait for months (generally 5-6 months), and they could even close your account if suspect you to cheat. Anyway, about 50% of users have been paid (HINT: collect 25$ and wait for your check...).
CLICK HERE to give a look.
Global: 50/100
Spedia:
Comment: They pay a fake... 0.30$ per hour with no limit. But they have some rules that I do not like (if you do not load a new site after every 30 seconds, the bar stops to credit you ), they CHEAT incredibly with your surf time, and they can VERY easily close your account if they suspect you are a cheater, etc. Anyway, this is the ONLY company that has really been paying worldwide for 1 year or more. And this DOES boost their ranking.
IMPORTANT: The REAL pay-rate of Spedia is about 0.08-0.10$ per hour. They cheat about 70-75% of your time. If you do not believe me, try to surf normally for a couple of hours with the bar of Spedia active. How many points will you receive for 2 hours? Generally 25-30 (this means 0.25$ per 2 hours, or 0.12$ per hour). CLICK HERE to join.
-- If you want to increase the pay-rate (up to 0.10-0.12$ per hour) you have to surf with 2 windows of Explorer opened (and surf with BOTH): for example using Clickthru or ClickforHits.
GLOBAL: 40/100
CashSurfer:
Comment: you are paid to surf about 0.04 $ per hour (max 4 hours per day). The level for referrals are good and you do not have to surf actively to collect points, nor keep any click-rate. The bar works fine, and the payments have been increased in the last month, though they still are NOT very good.
GLOBAL: NOT GOOD
Dollarweb:
Comment: Finally the bar works quite good, but the pay-rate has dropped. You get paid a FIX rate of 0.16 CAD (about 0.10$) per hour with unlimited time and no need to surf actively. Only 1 level of referrals, up to now. CLICK HERE to give a look.
Be careful! The sector is dropping!
GLOBAL: 35/100
Cashfiesta:
Comment: surf-bar that places in the bottom (or top) part of the screen. They have paid in January 0.12$ per hour. After many months of troubles, maybe the worse is over. CLICK HERE to join.
UPDATE: For converting your points in cash, you have to join a couple (free) programs. Not a great news.
IMPORTANT: Many users complain to have not been paid.
GLOBAL: NOT GOOD
Paidforsurf:
The whole sector is dropping. So, maybe they (and all the companies of Pay to Surf) cannot pay for months (or even they could shut down). Be careful!
Even the best Paid for Surf company is in a sea of troubles. I do not know if they will pay anymore.
GLOBAL: NOT GOOD
GetPaid4:
Comment: They came back! This bar has been down for months (at least for international users). But they have just done an upgrade, and now everything seems to work fine. The pay-rate is 0.10$ per hour up to 75 hours per month. (100 hours in December) (IMPORTANT: you must click at least 0.5 banners every 100, and less than 5, or they will not pay you).
-- The bar is often down. Remember that they take you first 2$ of every month because of an absurd fee. CLICK HERE to join.
-- Seem it does not work anymore (at least for international users).
GLOBAL: NOT GOOD
