Obedience
If you are going to own a boxer - be it a pet or for show it needs to be trained. Boxers are too boisterous to be left untrained and due to their size and strength could hurt someone even if they are playing.

There are lots of training clubs based around the country that offer one on one training or group sessions to help you keep your dog under control and make it a well mannered member of your family.

The biggest training scheme in the country at the moment is the
Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme.

This offers training for the family pet in three stages
Bronze, Silver and Gold
they also offer a
puppy foundation course lasting for a minimum of 4 weeks which assesses the puppy over a period of time.

All my dogs are trained in obedience although it is only one who competes in competions.

To find out details of local training clubs then give your vet or local council a call as they should have details of clubs or trainers to suit you.

Remember training isn't an overnight thing, it takes time and patience. If you are not prepared to put this into your dog do not expect to get any reward out.
