| I have been owned by a boxer or two since the day i was born. My parents bought Tasha (Klanstead April Fashion) a few years previous and kept a puppy from one of her litters in May 1986. This bundle of trouble was named Mij (Jimima Golden Glory) I came along in the september and have been in love with the breed ever since. Tasha and Mij were remarkable girlies so gentle and loving and 100% loyal familiy pets. We enjoyed their life with them until 1996 when Mij had to be put to sleep due to ill health. I now share my life with two boxers - Lara and Lexa - I co-own these two with my parents (Bracledam Boxers). My parents simply enjoy the dogs company so its always me you will see at the shows campaigning the girls and training them. As tends to be the case with us mad boxer folk im sure boxer number three will make it's way into our heart and home before too long. Lara has truly been an amazing dog. I started training her in obedience when we got her and in the last 8 yrs we have achieved so much together. From competing in the Junior Handling Finals at Crufts and winning well in obedience competitions to being a dream to handle and allowing me to achieve my Bronze, Silver and Gold UK Dog Handling Awards. If it wasnt for Lara's gentle nature and willingness to please I don't think i'd be where I am today with regards to my passion and commitment for my handling and training. She has been a pleasure to own, love and train. I am now training up the latest member of the familiy Lexa - Princess Ilex She is completely different to Lara - but still has the keeness and willingness to please. She has started out doing well in the ring so watch this space! Both Lara and Lexa are trained in the three main doggie disciplines - Breed, Obedience and Agility (however one dog seems to think obedience does not apply to her...) We train 3 nights a week alternating between dogs - they both get worked at least one night a week on top of extra training we do at home and about. I train with the West Country Dog Club at their ringcraft sessions, at Dawnland DTC for obedience and with Mike Bacon for agility. Both the girls love going out and training and can usually be found waiting at the front door as soon as our training bag gets moved! |
