Kitty’s Kettle
It’s just part of who she was, I guess.
Now upon our counter, in our kitchen,
Kitty’s kettle sits like new in this old
place.
And Kitty herself sits alone in that retirement
home
they call progressive.
She’ll
die, of course, but her kettle will live on . . .
