Valhalla (Old Norse Valhöll),
"Hall of the slain"
Location: Gladsheim

The most commonly known halls is Valhalla (Old Norse Valhöll), "Hall of the slain". This is Odin's Hall.

This hall is reserved for those slain gloriously in battle. The main gate is called Valgrind "sacred gate", behind which are the "holy doors" and "there are few who can tell the manner by which it is locked". The hall itself has 540 doors, so wide that 800 warriors could walk next to each other, walls made of spears, and a roof made of shields and benches covered with breastplates.

Every day the slain warriors, who will assist Odin in Ragnarök (the final conflict with the giants). They arm themselves for battle and ride forth by the thousands to engage in mock combat on the plains of Asgard. At night, they return to Valhalla to feast on roasted boar and drink intoxicating mead. Those who do not get to Valhalla end up in one of various other places. (See Below)

Location: Bottom of the Sea This hall is reserved for those lost at sea.

Gladsheim

Gods Meeting Hall
Location: Plain of Ida or Idavoll in Asgard, near the hall of Vingólf Gladsheim was a meeting hall, containing twelve high seats where the male Ćsir held council. It was located on the Plain of Ida or Idavoll in Asgard, near the hall of Vingólf where the goddesses gathered.

It is where "wicked men will go to Hel and thence to Niflhel [adobe of darkness]: that is down in the ninth world."

Vingólf

Where the goddesses gathered.
Location: On the Plain of Ida or Idavoll in Asgard It is described as the hall or hörgr of the goddesses and also as a place where righteous men and those slain in battle go after death. It is mentioned only in the Prose Edda and in the enigmatic poem Hrafnagaldur Óđins.
