Today, my family and I are going to be having popcorn fun. I used to spend my day making popcorn, but now I simply buy 2 big bags at the bulk store.
The first thing we do is make popcorn strands. I buy large needles and always try to make sure we have extras, since the neighborhood kids seem to smell the popcorn. We usually end up with almost a dozen large strands. I have the children and their friends hang them up outside among the trees, and the adults hang them up on the tree inside.
After the children are done running around the yard like maniacs, we have them sit down and make popcorn balls. (the recipe is included below)
We usually finish up the night with hot cocoa and popcorn balls.
