Born and raised on San Cristobal (Makira) Solomon Islands 1952.
Attended King George VI Secondary School 1970-1974
Studied for Dip Ed. 1975-77 University of the South Pacific
Worked as a Teacher at St Joseph Catholic Secondary School
–Solomon Islands. 1978- June 79
Peace Corps Consultant as Co-Author of Solomon Islands Pijin Text
books for Peace Corps Langauge & Cultural Training Manuals.
July-December 1979
Joined Teaching Staff of St Joseph Secondary School- 1980
Went to University of Papua New Guinea to do an In-Service BEd
specialising in Educational Planning - 1981-82.
Appointed as Deputy Principal of St. Joseph Secondary School,
Solomon Islands- 1983.
Obtained a Government Scholarship to study ESL and TOFL at Sydney
University 1984...Graduated with Postgraduate Dip TEFL and Masters
Qualifying. Accepted to do an MA in Applied Linguistics, 1985-86.
Graduated with an MA and DIP TEFL- 1986.
Joined Solomon Island College of Higher Education as Head of
English Department at the School of Education. 1987
Principal of Solomon Islands College of Higher Education (SICHE)
1989- September 1992.
November of 1992 to Feb. 2000 appointed as Solomon Islands
Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador to the
United States and High Commissioner to Canada based in New York.
During this period, I represented my Government in various
International Conferences such as Barbados Conference for Small
Island developing States,WSSD, Habitat, World Food Conference and
other consensus building conferences on Conventions such as
Biodiversty, Climate Change and Straddling and Migratory Fish
Stocks Agreement.
Executive Director for the Foundation of the Peoples of the South
Pacific International
(FSPI).
April 2000..... FSPI with over 36 years of experience is a network
of independent NGOs and the largest Service Delivery
Non-Governmental Organisation working with Grassroot Communities
in the Pacific. The Network covers Tonga, Solomon Islands,
Vanuatu, Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, PNG, Tuvalua and East Timor
including three metropolitan members AFAP- Australia, JWP- UK and
CPI- USA.
Married with three children.
