Stewart Firth is Professor of
Politics and Head of the Department of History/Politics at the
University of the South Pacific, Suva,
Fiji.
He was born in Sydney,
Australia, in 1944 and educated at Sydney and Oxford universities.
He has been researching and
writing about the Pacific
Islands
for the last 30 years and is the author or co-author of a number
of books about the region.
He has published a number of articles on South Pacific regional
