Messengers and Trumpeters Contest

In the 96th Olympics (396 BC), apart from athletes, there were  messengers and trumpeters. They participated in games and the winners had a concessive role throughout the performance of the games.

More specifically, contests were established for messengers and trumpeters, as many of them vindicated the honour to announce the games and winners, or to ping the trumpet on the hippodrome. Thus, whoever won acquired the concession to trumpet and announce the athletes during the Olympics.
