This tour was created after a sequence of several events. First, I found myself 'forced' to spend a lot of time 'inside' my computer (see my "My Experiences with SCSI... and IDE..." pages) I also had a camera with a 'marco' setting. Finally, on a weekly technology report on the local news, the "Website of the week" one week was for a page whose author gave a tour of everything in his wallet (titled something like "What's inside my wallet?")
So, I got the idea of making a "What's inside my computer" page. Here was my chance to experiment with that 'macro' setting, create something a little different on my web page, and (possibly) make some of the stuff I learned about my computer useful. I'd also get to experiment with Corel PHOTO-PAINT, and maybe learn some new features. Some of the pictures are a bit fuzzy, and I don't guarantee that all the information is perfect, but (in my opinion, anyway) the result isn't bad.
My computer is a Packard Bell "Multimedia" Pentium-60 computer. It is a "4x4 series" (this is explained in the tour), and contains a "PB520R" motherboard. It is a desktop model, not a tower. (I think it's worthwhile pointing out that while I've used my Ataris for much, much longer than this computer, I know very little when it comes to what's inside them. I've rarely needed to open them up!)
Each stop on the tour consists of a picture and information on some noteworthy aspects of the picture. At the bottom of each page is a key to the items mentioned at the stop.
