This is a different date and location from originally planned. We wanted to allow everyone a little more time to prepare their cars after recuperating from the holiday excitement.

There will be a derby car test run at Galilee on January 14, 11 AM - 2 PM. Have your car weighed, measured, and try it out on the track.
If you can come early to help set up, that would be great. Just drop by between 10 AM and 11 AM.

Derby day schedule is as follows:

Room setup begins at 8:30. (Den leaders and helpers)
Check-in from 11:00 - noon (Everyone)
The races begin at noon and trophies will be awarded immediately after the races are complete, at about 2:00 PM.
Clean-up immediately after the races and will finish by 3:00 PM. Please stay and help clean up if you are able.

Every car is measured and weighed prior to racing, to ensure that they meet Pinewood Derby requirements. It's best to arrive early so that you can do any last minute modifications. It's not unusual to have a car over or under weight, even if it weighed in perfectly at home. The scale at the Pinewood Derby site is the official scale.

Awards

Each winner will receive a trophy.

Trophies will be given for the fastest three cars in each division (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos I, Webelos II).

Trophies will also be given for these special categories:

Most Detailed
Most Outrageous
Out-Of-The-Box
Most Creative
Most Colorful

Plus, there will be a drawing after all the judging is finished for the "Lucky Car." All of the cars that did NOT win a trohpy in the competitions will be entered in the Lucky Car drawing.
