Oct 4-6 Cabin Campout - Beaumont Camp.  Announcement & information available in the Events section of Publications

Wow! Did we luck out on the weather?  Seemed like a lot longer than 40 hours: tons of fish caught, lots of hiking and playing in the woods, shooting sports was great, super food.

Some saw the Space Station Saturday but it wasn't over us for the next pass - it went over the US in a path from around New Orleans to Seatle.  Check the schedule for more sightings this week at:
Space Station Sighting Schedule - by City  or
Space Station Real-time Tracking Map.

Independence Fireworks Concession results are in!

Cash proceeds $416 Less seed money (40) Less cost of pretzels and funnel cakes (75) Net income from event $301

Thanks for everyone's efforts!

Note: I found last year's records.  Cash proceeds $411 less seed money (48) Less cost of food (91.06) Net Income $272.  We raised prices, sold less, made a little more.  I think our location cost us some sales compared to last year but it might have been a pricing issue as well.

3/22/02 Matt (Web 4) & Mr. Behringer have obtained 6 computers for us!  Looking good so far.  We'll have a VCR to take apart too.

City of Brecksville donated some computers too.

Meeting Agenda is Here.

3/22/02
Mar. 22 We plan to have a "What's inside a computer" session at the Pack mtg. where the scouts disassemble computers.  I've got leads on 4  systems from the City of Brecksville so far but we could use about 8 more.  Dig through your basements and ask people or companies you know.  VCR's and other electronic devices are cool too but nothing with "TV type screens" or large capacitors (Call Cliff if you want to check.)

This is great fun for the scouts.  They get to use tools, they get to take something apart, and they get to keep some cool "parts".  We help name the parts and explain what the parts do so there's a learning element in this too.

Donated equipment guidelines:

  1. Working condition or not.
  2. No "monitors" please but if you must accept them from others in order to get a donation, we can handle proper disposal.
  3. We can give donors acknowledgement letters so that they can remove the items from inventory and complete accounting transactions involving charitable donations.   We are officially part of St. Michael Parish and will be accepting items on their behalf for tax purposes.
  4. We can provide affidavits that the hard drives have been rendered unusable.  In some cases, that's what makes the donation worthwhile for the donor company.  It saves them the expense of destroying the hard drives or paying someone to erase the drives.
