Our first preview audience.
Well, our first "legitimate" audience (not to say last night's was illegitimate!) - maybe I should say first PAYING audience.  The energy felt good. I felt we were more on tonight in places we weren't last night. Again, not to say we weren't without our own pitfalls!
Alex got into his sumo outfit instead of his cagebearer outfit so Michael and I had a few anxious moments while we waited for him to change.  Michael suggested that if Alex was not ready that I should drag Michael out with his hands bound behind him, but Alex got ready just in the nick of time. We were a little late but at least we were there.

We also did our photoshoot tonight.  I wasn't called for many scenes. I was called for the first number "Advantages" and for the "Please Hello" number as the Bristish Admiral/Ambassador.
One of the more memorable moments during photoshoot was standing behind Alex and Dana and watching them have a finger-snapping duel while we were waiting for everybody to get there!
Somehow I felt that the photoshoot could be more organized. After the show we were given 10 minutes break and then told to come to the stage for photos. Since we only knew that the first photo was for advantages - and we were told that they wanted us in full costume and makeup/wigs - quite a few of us were late for the casual group shot. I came in full costume and wig and felt really stupid next to people who weren't dressed. And boy was Mother Mikio angry!
Tonight was a late night. I left a little after midnight and I can only assume some didn't leave until after 12:30 am. I sure am glad I took tomorrow off....

Today we seemed to again improve a little bit more.
I did slip, however, during the opening number. And this was after Rebecca cautioned us to take it easy since the stage was still a little slick from the gloss ...
Also, tonight, during notes, Francis related to us how, when he did this show in 1984 off-broadway, there was a lot of press and people telling him how "Asians can't sing" and "Asians aren't good-looking enough to be watched for 2 1/2 hours".  He then told us, as he watched us tonight, how proud he felt just to be associated with such a group.

No, Francis, it is quite the other way around. How lucky are we to have you in our midst....
We sure  will miss you when you head  back to NY to do
