The Guardians chose to board the next transport ship. The ship passed over a large rift where other ships had been destroyed. A whirlpool was spotted and the ship changed course to avoid it. The Guardians spotted the sea creature as it approached. Some Guardians fired on the creature, others studied the situation or tested pet theories.
Crocodile took one segment of C4 from Quiasar and tried to attract its attention. Meanwhile, Shadow Knight went into the water and attempted to vibrate into the creature, acting on the theory that it was a robot. He apparently did some internal damage to the creature, but was then somehow seized and ejected.
Quiasar, also in the water, used his forcefield to jam a C4 pellet into the dragon. Unfortunately, the monster was to generate a counterforce that neutralized the C4. Neither side was bombed. Crocodile jumped into the open mouth of the creature with his package of C4. The monster threw Crocodile out, but did not detect the C4. The explosion seemed to hurt the monster, but did not down it.
The battle continued without major blows from either side. Entropy damaged the armor and was knocked out in retaliation. Finally, the sea monster withdrew.
Conclusions and Followup: While not a clear combat victory, the mission was a success in solving the mystery. We preserved a transport and its crew. For the moment, no follow up on the monster is needed. Several scientific expeditions are being mounted to study the creature. If capture or destruction is requested by governmental agencies, we may be contacted then. All Guardians fought well as individuals. However, we did not perform as a team. A coordinated attack on the creature may have accomplished more than a series of individual ploys. Also, White Leopard is our best physical fighter, but she lacks confidence. Praise and encourage her attacks.
