“So I take it I did the wrong thing?” Pacey spoke into the phone; he was sitting in her office looking over some of her paper work that was scattered over the desk.
“You bet your arse you did mister, Riley was being difficult again,” Joey signed at the other end of the line; she had just got into her car, when he called.
“But it’s a cute arse right?” Pacey joked; trying to lighten her mood and it worked, Joey smiled.
“Pace, be serious, when is she going to realise that I’m not trying to replace her mother!” Joey breathed out deeply.
“Be patient Jo, she’ll come around!” Pacey offered, wandering himself when it was going to happen.
Riley believed that ever since the divorce a few of years back, that anyone that Pacey started to go out with, was trying to replace her mother, so she made life difficult. Yet when Pacey met up with Joey again, it was different. Riley actually started to enjoy Joey’s company that was until she started dating Pacey and it got even worse when she moved in with him, last month.
“What when she turns eighteen and can leave home!” Joey bit her lip in frustration.
“Look I’m sorry, that my daughter is a pain in the butt, but look at her parents, can you really blame her!” Pacey leant forward on his desk, rubbing his forehead.
“I guess not, ones a perky blonde that hates the fact that I date her ex-husband, and the other well he still doesn’t no how to use the word ‘goodbye’, So yeah I can see your point!” Joey giggled as she pulled up in front of her studio building.
“Love you too Jo!” Pacey smiled as he leant back on his chair.
“I knew there was I reason I was going out with you!” She reached the elevator and pressed the button for the right floor.
“Well I aim to please you!”
“Dam straight mister,” Joey said as the door opened at the right floor and she headed across the room, “Wouldn’t have it any other way!”
“Well good!” Pacey replied as Joey appeared in doorway, and they smiled at each other.
“You know, I’m going to have to go, there’s this gorgeous man in front on me that I think I’m going to have to kiss soon!” Joey bite down on her lip, as she steps towards Pacey’s desk, still on the phone.
“Well, if you must!” They both hung up their phones as Joey sits down in his lap, leaning forward but pulled back when their lips are just millimetres away from each other.
“The more I think about….” Joey trailed off, watching Pacey squirm a bit.
“You know Potter, now would be a good time to shut up!” Pacey said pulling her face and lips towards him, not letting her get away before the came in contact with a heated kiss that left them both breathless, their foreheads touching.
“I missed you this morning!” Joey said closing her eyes and signing quietly.
“I missed you more!” Pacey kissed her nose.
“Aren’t you meant to be at the restaurant?” Joey asked pulling away slightly, to look at him properly.
“Yeah, but I was under Annabelle’s strict instructions, to do some arse kissing, for leaving early this morning and I wasn’t about to refuse!” Pacey smirked leaning over and laying a kiss on her forehead.
“Remind me to thank her later!” Joey said just as there was a knock at the door.
“Sorry to interrupt, but could I drag Joey away from you for a while Pace?” Jack asked walking in. Jack was one of Pacey’s closest friends since high school, and he often found Pacey in Joey’s office, when he shouldn’t be.
“By all means!” Pacey entwined his fingers with Joey’s as she got up; squeezing her hand before letting go, “Lunch?”
“Lunch!” Joey smiled down at him before turning her attention to Jack, as they headed over to his office. Ever since she had met up with Pacey again, they ate lunch together, it was just about the only time they got to spend together alone, during the day.
