PACERS and CEPD sponsor forum with Dr. Charles

Clients helping therapists find solutions to their therapy? Sounds far fetched? Not really, necause it's one innovative approach in family therapy. This was the topic of Dr. Laurie Lopez-Charles talk during a forum with counselors on August 16, 2005 held at the Ariston Estrada Seminar Room in DLSU-Manila. The phenomenologically-based model posits the view that the client's experience during therapy is a rich resource for therapeutic outcomes. THis includes client's perceptions of the process, content, and goals of the therapy session.

The technique lies in interviewing and asking open-ended questions like the "miracle question". This solution-focused approach solicits from the clients concrete recommendations for possoble soultions to the problem.
