Where am I? What happened to Anya? And what came over me? I almost killed a man. The worst part of it is... I enjoyed it...

Act 3: Prisoner of Rage

I woke up to find myself unable to move. I was shakeled from my wrists to my ankles. The restraints were a little tight on me showing off veins in my arms. I tried looking up when I was struck by something on my face. My right eye stung a bit but I managed to get a look at who did it. He was slender and muscular. The only defect on him was his left eye.

"You almost killed one of my men, stranger," he spoke to me. "I can't have that on my ship... Even though he has no manners whatsoever,"

I don't know what he wanted from me or what he intended to do with that whip, but I kept silent.

"What's wrong? You have nothing to say? When you were beating up my shipmate, you had a great deal to say. ANSWER ME!!!" He cracked the whip on my chest which tore my fleash. The pain was unbearable, yet I wouldn't scream. I wouldn't give him that pleasure.

"You're no average freak, are you? Why don't you break out of those and attack me?" he mocked. I wanted to. I swear to god I did. But I was worried about Anya. What would he do to her if I did? He then cracked the whip again on my stomach. I had a hard time tring to hold myself together as a tear came out of my eyes.

"This is pointless... But fun," he continued to mock me. "I really wanted to see this man tear through my reinforced chains like he did to my cage. But if he's not going to..."

What did he have in mind? The more I thought about it, the more enraged I became. The only thing that kept me from ripping him apart was Anya. She had nothing to do with me and yet she is involved. I promised to protect her and if it means I die, then so be it.

"I... I won't give you... the pleasure," I uttered out. He seemed amused by my response.

"You're joking! I'm already getting pleasure out of whipping your hide. But at least you can speak. Is there anything else you would like to say?"

I saw a vision before my eyes. The family that were murdered by one dark stranger. I saw his face in the shadows.

"Who... Are you?" I had to know. This was the same man who murdered an entire population.

"Me? Isn't it obvious? I'm Captain Hawk! And I was born to make others suffer. Just like I'm doing to you right now, We'll be taking extra care of your little girlfriend,"

I felt the rage in me again. I wanted him to suffer... Even in hell I wanted to follow him to destroy him. Then suddenly, a voice not my own spoke out.

"You are a fool! This vessal has so much pain within him and you are giving him more to feed on!"

"Wha...What are you?" he said in fear. He seemed to be startled by me.

"We are one! You are not needed anymore!" the rest seemed blurry afterwards.

When I woke up, I found myself on an island. How did I get here? And where is Anya? I got up from the beach and looked around. I found her just a short way from me. She seemed fine, but she wanted to distance herself from me.

"What's wrong? It's me," I assured her. She still kept her distance.

"What are you?" she was terrified. I just didn't understand. Why is she afraid of me?

"Anya. Please. I don't remember what happened. What... did I do?" I was afraid of what I did. But I had to know. Anya looked at me and realized I had no clue.

"Ruben, you blew up the ship we were on. Don't you remember?"

I honestly didn't. How could I have blown up the ship when I was shackled. I looked to my wrists. Sure enough, the shackles were still on me. Why is this happening to me? I ran away in fear that I would end up harming Anya. I knew she was worried when she cried out to me.

"Ruben! Wait! Don't leave!"
