Chapter 2:The Journey Begins

Peter had just finished his final preperations for the road ahead. All he needed was in his backpack. Clothes, medical aides, food, sleeping bag and Pokémon essentials. "I think this should about cover our primary needs, wouldn't you say so G?" he asked his friend. Nodo-G nodded as he was eager to leave.
"Hold on. I think we need a head count so we don't miss anyone," Peter advised as he pulled off his Pokéballs from his belt. Peter had a select few that he had been given. Charmander was the first that was given to him by Professor Oak himself. And Eevee actually followed him home one day after a harsh training exersize.
"Okay. Looks like we're all here. Listen up! We're gonna be leaving on a journey, so we need to get some things straight. First off, I want you to do your best. No matter if we're up against a wall or just training, you out there to have fun. Second, don't let anyone tell you you're not good enough. I believe in you and that's what counts. And finally," Peter paused for a minute as he thought about his pep talk.
"Finally, let's make sure our little team can be a bigger one. Now then, Are we ready for an adventure?"
The others nodded as they wanted to leave now. Peter then returned Charmander and Eevee to their Pokéballs as he an Nido-G began to head off to the Pokémart.

The Pokémoart had all the essentials needed for the average trainer. From Pokéballs to Antidotes, they were stocked up and ready to go. Peter and Nido-G walked into the store looking for a few items. The clerk recognized Peter as she welcomed him warmly. "Hi Peter. What's with the Backpack?" she asked.
"I'm on my way to the Pokémon League. Cool, Huh?" he replied. The clerk's eyes widened with surprize as she heard the news.
"That's Wonderful! I'm happy for you. Need anything for the road?"
Peter thought about it as he looked on the shelves. "I think I'll need a few Pokéballs, three Potions and a Paralize Heal. I have to keep it small," he answered. The clerk smiled as she handled the order into a sack.
"That's alright. This one's on me," she responded happily. Peter felt guilty just taking it at someone else's expense. "Are you sure? I don't feel right about this," he said nervously.
"Don't worry. All I ask is that you remember me when you reach the League. Okay?"
Peter nodded as he took the supplies. She was indeed a good friend to know.

Peter and Nido-G finally were at the city limits to the north. It was the middle of the afternoon when the sun gave off its most radient light off of the golden city. "Take a good long look at it G. We won't be back for a while," he said to his Pokémon. Nido-G looked at it briefly as he then looked up at Peter with an awkward look. Peter looked down to his little buddy as he smiled. "You're right. You see one big city, you've seen them all. Let's go!" he said as the two headed off to the north.

The northward path to Cerulien City was pretty grassy. Peter kept his eyes open in case there was anything that resembled a Pokémon. "Do you hear anything?" he asked his companion. It is a known fact that Nidoran of the male species have excellent hearing. They can sense anything coming from far away and be prepared for anything.
Nido-G kept quiet signifying nothing was around. Peter then continued his search over the tall grass. "I wonder if they're out there?" he began to doubt. Peter then stopped for a moment as he pulled out a map. "We'll need to keep heading north for a bit. Chances are we'll be in Cerulian City by sunset," he said to himself. As he was putting his map away, Nido-G's ears began to perk up. Peter noticed it as he began to look around. "Must be good. Where is it?" he asked. Nido-G started to look around until he got a fix. He pointed to the left where there was a small stream.
The stream looked small, but it was good enough as a watering hole for certain Pokémon. Sure enough a little Oddish was drinking from the stream. Peter smiled as he was prepared to capture it. "Good job. I think Eevee needs some exersize," he whispered. He picked Eevee's Pokéball from his belt and threw it out near the stream. Eevee jumped out as the startled Oddish began to run off.

"Don't let it get away Eevee! Use a Sand Attack!" he ordered. Eevee began to kick up sand with his paws. The cloud began to obscure Oddish so it could not get away. "Alright! Take it down with your Quick Attack, Eevee!" Peter commanded. Eevee began to charge at Oddish as fast as it could.
The Oddish was still trying to clear its eyes from the sand when it barley glanced at Eevee gunning for it. The Oddish began to shake its leaves as it created a powdered cloud of its own. Eevee ran right into it as it began to come to a screeching halt.

"No way! That thing knows Stun Spore?" Peter thought in amazement. He knew it had to be quite experienced if it knew such an attack. "Eevee! Try to Tackle it! I know you can!" he cheered. Eevee felt as if it was held down by lead weights, but it tried its best for an attack. Oddish then began its Absorb technique. It leaped on top of Eevee and rooted itself. Eevee felt its energy being sucked out of it.
"Eevee won't last if it stays paralized. Guess there's not much of an option," Peter said as he began to search his backpack. He pulled out a Paralize Heal and threw out the contents at Eevee. Eevee felt its limbs move freely as it shook off Oddish from its back.

"Good going Eevee! Now show that Oddish what you can do!" Peter shouted. Eevee pounced on Oddish's leaves pinning it to the ground. Odish was imobalized since Eevee had it down. Peter then grabbed an empty Pokéball and threw it at Oddish. The ball hit on target as Oddish was cuaght in it. Peter was proud of Eevee as he walked over and stroked its fur.
"I'm proud of you, Eevee. I think we'll pause for a break now," he said. Peter then picked up his new Pokémon which he began to smile. "Welcome to our team Oddish. I'm sure you'll be a great asset to our journey..."
