Chapter 1: Genisis
It's been a long time since I got to see Lily and Amy. I had traveled a long time to find a past that I thought would make me happy. Truth is, I am happy being who I am. I think it was about time I took my role as a father to my little girl and a husband to my wife.
I left Lily and Amy in a small town where she could be safe from people who want to get to me. It wasn't fair to her to take her on the road. And now, Amy would be caught up in my business. Who wants to be hunted down for being a hero? I sure don't and I don't want anyone else to be for that matter.
As I traveled to the town, I noticed a swarm of flies buzzing around. They ended up buzzing in my face. It was the most annoying thing I have ever seen and heard. These little guys don't even give up when they circle around you. So I did what anyone would do... I took a swing with my claws and clipped them.
It was a little wierd to see such a swarm like that. It was like something died nearby. Oh I couldn't have been more right. The hilltop over th town gave the view of the whole area. It was utter chaos. Nothing looked like it was alive.I feared the worst as I ran to the piles of rubble and fire. "LILY!!! AMY!!!" I shouted franticly. The only thing I could think of is our home. It was by the lake on the other side of town. When I looked there, it was in ruin as well. I couldn't believe it. Who would do such a thing to good people? It didn't make much sense to me.
Just then, I heard someone crying on the other side of the rubble. To my surprize, It was Amy... And Saber? "What are you doing here?" I asked in wonder. Saber is a part of me. Kind of like the side of a person's primal instincts. He looked at me as he spoke in my mind.
"I could only help her. Forgive me," he said. He handed Amy over to me.
"Papa!" she cried as she held on to me.
"It's alright, baby. I'm here," I said. I was relieved to know that she was safe. However, I needed to know. "Where's Lily?"
Saber took me to a grave which looked like he had dug himself. I noticed that his hands were dirty. I knew what he meant. "I see... Thank you," I said calmly. I was no stranger to this. Lily died once before in my arms, thanks to Dreadwulf. But then, I was able to bring her back to me. "Saber, I want you to watch Amy for me," I said as I was handing her to him. Saber stepped back as if to say no. "What? I have something to do. I can't take her with me,"
Saber began to speak to me again. "I cannot because she does not want to be back," he said.
"What? Was she alive when you got here?"
"Yes. she wanted to give this to you," He went to the grave and picked up a necklace, then he gave it to me. It had an angel on it with several jewels on it. I remember giving it to Lily when I first brought her here. I told her when the angel itself lost its color, then it means that time for me has ended. I looked at it for a while and noticed it wasn't as bright as it once was. Only the jewels were. It could only mean that Lily wants to be where she is now. I understood now what Saber meant.
