UPDATE: (05/24/04)

Yahoo Messenger: p2pirate, AOL IM: p2pirate radio

Please upgrade to the newest version of Peercast, v0.1209, visit http://www.peercast.org/download.php. (NOTE: There is even a MAC version.)

Then check/change your settings listed below:

NOTE: If you are technically proficient, please double check your firewall settings. Peercast tends to set everybody to a "Firewalled" setting by default, but this causes broadcasting problems. If you are not behind a firewall, or if you are and you have NAT and port fowarding set up correct. Please go into your PEERCAST.INI file and change forceNormal to Yes from No. Please email me with questions.

  • RIGHT click on the peercast icon in your taskbar by the clock. It looks like a black and white axe.
  • Click ADVANCED -> SETTINGS
  • On the new window that opens up, make sure you have version v0.1209. (If not, You MuST upgrade at http://peercast.org/download.php)
  • under BASIC SETTINGS
  • - set MAX RELAYS = 2
  • - set MAX DIRECT STREAMS = 0
  • under NETWORK SETTINGS
  • - set MAX OUTPUT(kb/s) = 0
  • - set MAX RELAYS PER CHANNEL = 0
  • - set MAX CONTROLS IN = 0
  • NOTE: You MuST have v0.1209 installed, check the top of the page for your version number.
  • Thanks!

Thanks, p2pirate

This page outlines 3 simple steps you must follow to listen.

I promise this is EASY, SIMPLE, QUICK, FREE, and well worth it.

  1. Download and Install the p2p (Peer to Peer) software that allows you to connect to an audio stream. [Peercast] (Sort of like Napster, but for Radio.)
  2. Download and Install WinAmp to LISTEN to the audio stream. [WinAmp]
  3. Run the p2p software, Peercast along with WinAmp [Tune-in]
<!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->

Step One:

  1. Goto http://peercast.org/download.php
  2. Select the client software for Windows or Linux (or Mac experimental version.) Do NOT select the WinAmp plugin.
  3. Download & Install the Peercast software.

Step Two:

  1. Goto http://winamp.com/player/free.php (MAC ppl need an OGG player.)
  2. Select any of the 3 listed Free versions. The LITE version will work fine.
  3. Download & Install the WinAmp software.

Step Three: (6am-10:30am EST)

  1. Go to the Peercast.org YellowPages. (Between 6am-10:30am EST ONLY.)
  2. Find p2pirate, click PLAY.
(NOTE: when you start the software each morning, it *could* take 5-10 minutes to explore the network and find the station.)
  3. Listen and laugh your ass off.

Step Four: (Okay, I lied, 1 last thing.)

Don't go blabbing about this site to all your friends/co-workers/ho's/watercooler buddies/or anybody else that is sorry enough to make contact with you. Be discrete, tell people that are true fans and are really upset by this whole thing. If this doesn't get too big, it just might work!

You notice how a certain somebody's name isn't mentioned on this page. (hint, it's not you I'm referring to big guy.)

You're Done
