Now while the humans in the game look good nothing quite matches the Spiderman and Green Goblin costumes during the game they look almost as good as the CGI in the film. Spiderman's suit has the little bumps of rubber,the indented lines on the suit, and the new shiny silver eyes that have reflection mapping and just look darn cool. While the Green Goblin and his Goblin Glider have plenty of detail themselves like the spiked tips the glider, and the grooves in his robotic costume it continues the trend of cool imagery. The other main villains look great themselves, but the goons were apparently made to be just that so the bulk of the enemies you fight aren't that memorable but they did the right texture work on the characters where it counts. The game is filled with some dazzling effects and happens to be one of the first ported games that actually seems to take advantage of being on a more high end system like the XBOX and you'll find very little slowdown throughout all the beauty your soaking in.
The gameplay in the game has also been given a kick in the pants and I couldn't thank Treyarch more Spiderman has been given triple the amount of moves since the original he's been given new dodge techniques, new web attacks (as well as a new control scheme to make them easier to pull off), they made it where you have even more control over his web swinging this time, and finally he's not so touchy when moving depending on the pressure you apply to the stick Spidey will walk or run the ability to walk was something that was sorely needed in the old version because constantly running made it hard to move precisely before.Of course he still has all the other abilities he had in the other games like his wall crawling and plain punches and kicks. Like I stated before there have been changes to the control in the web swinging and these might be some of the biggest improvements to the controls in the game.There is now a new meter to go along with the Spidey Compass that lead you to your next destination in the game it's called the height meter and it judges how high or low spidey is in the city and normally you will have to be on the right area on the height bar as well as the compass thus Spidey can now be maneuvered up and down while web swinging this might not sound like much but it actually gives you a sense of the weight and control it takes to move up and down on these webs.
