Yo Momma wears Green Goblin Boots.........
Spiderman the movie has been hyped since the day they went into production to start working on it. Every other major hero has gotten a film of some kind over the years so it really is odd it's taking this long for the big screen to get an adaption of such a beloved hero. Of course part of the hype had to include a Spiderman game heck the original's warranted a next generation sequel lucky for us this one got based on the movie and gives the game a more realistic and beautiful look. This time around the team that did the port to the Dreamcast version and made Spiderman 2 for Playstation, Treyarch are at the helm creating a engine from the ground up which this was great news as the Tony Hawk engine was great but for the next gen systems a new engine was without a doubt needed. Spiderman the Movie game's story differs quite a bit in places from the films so we don't have to be left with only one villain The Green Goblin is in there but there are plenty of other baddies to trade blows with Scorpion, Shocker, Vulture and exclusive to the XBOX version Kraven the Hunter this also helps the fact that if you haven't seen the film yet the game is different enough from the film it won't ruin the film and the story can still hold the interest of those that have.
The graphics in Spiderman the movie are huge leap from those in the original Spiderman games on consoles from the last generation of hardware ( and yes I'd consider at this point the DC last gen). As I stated before the game is given a more realistic and less cartoony look like the previous games had. There is no fog or draw in like the older games either just a crystal clear view of a very realistic city with traffic flowing below you (though you can't go far enough down to see them without having Spidey fall to his death) and people yelling at Spidey as he gets to the lower levels of the buildings the large scale of everything gives you a feeling of being the actual guy in a Spiderman suit swinging around New York. The main characters are all based off the actors in the film so Peter Parker looks like Tobey Maguire and Norman Osborn looks like Willem Dafoe. Mary Jane doesn't look quite like Kirsten Dunst though she looks kind of like an odd mix of the comic version and Kirsten Dunst. Continue on to page 2 of 4 |
