Of course getting to Spidey to 3D is no mere feat considering the abilities of such a character it would require a very action oriented game engine to get even close to the comics, so with Neversoft on the job they used what they knew best the Tony Hawk Engine. This was a wise decision as I can't think of a better engine to craft Spiderman's movement better then Tony Hawk's . With this engine in place Spiderman can actually do what a Spider can he can swing any direction, he can leap tall building in a single bound.....ummm wrong character but Spidey can still do his amazing leaps in the air and pound an unsuspecting thug right in the kisser, he can punch, kick, and finally use a lot of his amazing Spiderman tricks with his webbing such as the zip line that pull him quickly to another spot in the level or using the analog stick in combination with the Y button instead of just tying enemies up he can cover his hands with hard webbing and smack them around up close and personal as well as other various Spider webbing techniques. Spiderman can also do that which we know him best for his wall crawling by pressing the jump button against almost any surface in the game the "wall-crawler" can climb just about anything from tall skyscrapers to ceiling in a bank while trying to remain covert and save hostages all of these controls are normal pretty good yet the use of the web techniques with the analog stick can sometimes be a bit frustrating as well the controls for moving spidey seem a little too lose when running. The other problem with the controls has to do with camera this is the biggest problem the game has, unlike the Tony Hawk games where you never lost sight of your character due to to Spidey's wide assortment of maneuvers the camera just isn't fast enough to keep up or spins too wildly trying to keep up that it makes it even harder to keep up with Spiderman during combat, climbing walls, and sometimes even web swinging. Through most of the game it is bearable but the camera's flaws are most significant durring the final boss battle which the camera is just so awful it will take you more time to beat then any level in the game not because it's significantly hard or that the controls aren't just right  but because the camera angles are so bad that you can not see where in the world your going and it's a shame as it's one of the few problems I have with the game nevertheless it's still playable just be prepared to replay some levels due to camera problems and unfair deaths.
