The graphics in the game are quite good for Dreamcast game but they are nothing draw droppingly wonderful compared to other games on Dreamcast, the textures are ten times better then the Playstations textures they also look more detailed and the models have more polys making them more fleshed out. The draw distance is pretty good not perfect but it's better then the Playstation game though there is still a bit of pop-up and sometimes you end up having to swing to the next building or object with just a bit of blind luck but it's very rare for that to happen and even less in this version then the others. Speaking of the buildings all of them have little details billboards talking about heroes and villains being on talk shows, the Fantastic Four building off in the distance, and of Course a site of the Daily Bugle. The characters in the game range from slightly better then the Playstation version to holy crap how could I ever even try the PS version these are so much better, the most notable in these categories is the women of the game. Mary Jane and Black Cat leave their ugly inbred cousins to the Playstation version as Black Cat (the better improvement of the two) finally looks like her voluptious Comic Book Self ,while Mary Jane looks more like her Model self. The rest of the cast is upgraded as well with high-res textures, more poly's, and rarely any texture seams splitting like in the PSone version. Most of the cinemas in this version have been modified to use the higher res characters as well. Also, Yes Spidey's costumes do have the Web Pattern that they are supposed to in this version and this makes quite a difference in the look for our webbed hero. All in all Treyarch did a very commendable effort in the graphics department of the game shame they didn't have time to make repairs in the camera system.
Last but not least is the sound in the game which actually is quite well done, nothing could've made me happier then having the Spiderman theme song playing at the opening title and during the menu screen and i'm glad they did it this way. Also, the voices in the game are very well done most of them are from the cartoon Spiderman shows of the 90's Doc Ock is done by the same man that did him in the early 90 cartoon, while Spidey is done by Rino Romano who was the voice for Spidey during Spiderman Unlimited, and Black Cat and Mary Jane is still done by the same woman who played Felicia Hardy and Black Cat in the 90's show and then Mary Jane in Spiderman Unlimited.Continue to page 4 of 4 |
