The opening itself is riveting and rivals that of a major blockbuster film also to see Snake finally shown like a human being instead of a someone who just bobs his head when he talks was awesome MGS 2 is almost as much of a quantum leap in graphics as MGS was to the Metal Gear on NES.Everything you see is meticously detailed in the game world little bottles sitting on shelves take a few shots at them with your gun in first person and you can break them in different spots, shoot a bucket of ice and watch as the ice melts on the floor, and then there are some things that are really important to gameplay and not just graphical glitz like shooting out lights so guards can't see you or actually having to worry about your shadow being seen the team made this game as graphically realistic as possible. The characters also have been given a great boost like I mentioned about Snake before every character in the game including the guards look every bit as good as FMV from games on the original Playstation yet all of these are in Real Time and the characters look the same in and out of the cinemas. Also, all the original voice actors from the first MGS have returned including the only man who could ever play Snake now David Hayter Metal Gear is still one of the most shining examples of getting good voice talent now if only Capcom would take note. For the music this time Hideo Kojima decided to go with a cinema composer for all the music and this was a very good decision Harry Gregson Williams of Enemy of the State fame did the entire soundtrack for MGS 2 and redid the MGS theme into perfection just listen to it in the opening cinema and you'll know what I mean. It shows that the team worked long hours to get everything right because Snake even controls ten times better then he did in the first and that's saying a lot he has more moves at his disposal this time then ever before. Snake can now do a special rolls to move faster or to bowl over enemies, he can pick up bodies of unconscious soldiers or dead soldiers and dispose of them or simply hide them so no other guard find him, and now finally Snake can fire his weapon in first person view it was something that wasn't in MGS and this one proves it's well worth having in there.
