Snake also now can sneak depending on the pressure on the analog stick as most of you know the first MGS did not allow you walk slowly to sneak around, Snake always ran whether using a Dual shock or a plain pad and a final addition is the triangle button is now a use key which makes the game more realistic by actually being able to interact with the enviroment. Don't get me wrong though a lot of Snakes controls are still the same but it's more of an evolution then a revolution for Snake and that's not too bad considering not much was wrong with MGS's controls in the first place. Now, most people will be coming to this in hopes of finding out what scrape Snake has gotten himself into and this is about the only problem in MGS 2 and it's the worst one to have in a game of this type where the story means everything. The Tanker chapter I would say is perfect if it was where the whole game was set I would've given the game a perfect score......sadly the game is split into two chapters the Tanker and the Plant Chapter after the Tanker and I won't explain why your character will shift away from Snake but you'll be playing a new character I'm sure by now you've heard of Raiden I won't go into too much detail about him if you haven't but his chapter is the bulk of the game! It's a pity because there are some great villains introduced in this game as well as showing some insight into the life of Otacon and I personally liked Raiden but to spend the rest of the game as him blows as this game was supposed to continue the mythos of MGS. Raiden shoud've been the bit player in this one not Snake and during the Plant Chapter the plot goes all to heck towards the end and you'll be scratching you head wondering what the.......? Although, the game does not stick with Snake all the way through the game is longer and still plays wonderfully and the graphics are top notch and as much as the plot tried to make me change my mind about the series it couldn't. The game is just top quality through and through the story is only a minor gripe as far as gameplay, graphics, and sound go this is the pinnacle of the the Metal Gear Series and I still highly suggest purchasing MGS 2 if you have a PS2 or plan on owning one. I just hope that Konami will further the series so maybe we can get some answers and make sense of what happened at the end of MGS 2 and finish the series with Solid Snake at the helm.
