Satine Christian The Duke Harold Zidler Toulouse
 A "Penniliess Poet" who moves to Paris to write his novel about truth,
beauty, freedom and love, until he realizes that he's never been in love.
Christian then becomes intangled in the creation of a "truely revolutionary, totally bohemian" musical.
After the play's original playwrite quits, Christian receives his first job.
Then he meets Satine. Through a chain of many mix ups and accidental meetings, Christian,
as well as the rest of the players, win the approval of the Duke so that he will produce the play,
and the renovation of the Moulin Rouge, and in the process wins the heart of Satine.
 .Satine is the "Sparkling Diamond" of the Moulin Rouge.
She is the best at what she does, and she is longed after by many, many men
Satine's dream is to become a REAL actress. When the opportunity arises for the Moulin Rouge
to be converted into a theater for Satine to be able to act in it's first play, she will do anything
to insure that it will happen. That is until she met Christian. As Satine is forced to fall in love with the Duke,
her heart will not let her. As hard as she tried to NOT fall in love with Christian, it didn't work.
 The Duke is a very rich and powerful man, who at first appears to be very harmless,
but who has a mean streak. His only desire is to have Satine fall in love with him.
His motive for funding the play for the Moulin Rouge is so that Satine will be exclusivly his.
As he talks to Harry Zidler he explains that he will not fund the play until his desires are met.
These desires being that he will hold the title to the Moulin Rouge to insure that no funny business goes on,
because he doesnt' like other people touching his things, in this case Satine.
 Harold Zidler is the owner and caretaker of the Moulin Rouge,
the hippest nightclub in Paris. Harry's motto is "The Show Must Go On!"
He will stop at nothing to put on his huge production, including selling Satine to another man.
He treats Satine as though she is his pet, but he also uses her to get what he wants.
 Henri Raymond Toulouse Lautrec Montfa is the dwarf-like man with a lisp who
lived vicariously through Christian throughout his affair with Satine. Toulouse, much like his character in the play,
spoke the truth. Toulouse was the one who got Christian involved in the play in the first place.
Toulouse told Christian that he was a true Bohemian.He was the one who devised the plan to have Christian
talk to Satine about the play. When Satine told Christian that she chose the Duke over him, Toulouse knew that
she still loved Christian
