MIKE FROST & the Icemen
Here's a selection of snaps from our first six months of Blue Monday sessions at the Muddy Farmer, in Annerley, Brisbane. We've been fortunate to have a steady stream of fabulous musicians joining us onstage for a series of very memorable nights. Long may it continue!
Above: Fender wars! Tele vs Strat. Mike Frost takes on Greg Aitken, and the audience is the winner.
Above & Right: The multi-talented Josh Bambridge, who opens our Monday nights with some great finger-picking and soulful vocals. That's Greg Aitken on guitar backing up Josh's down-home fiddle playing.
Left: More fine acoustic music, this time from Cairns artist Andy Collins, with Andy Vogel on harp.
Above: Dean Haitani, visiting from Melbourne, was fresh, funky and on fire.
Above: Matt Stevenson & Junior Hickey (from Harpoon) and the Rev. Coojee Tims on drums.
Tim Palmer and Steve Dorahy, sweet-pickin' some early Piedmont and Delta blues
The Colonel sneaks in a little snack. Mmmm, love that deep southern fried harmonica!
Mike Frost & the Icemen hold their Blue Monday session at the Muddy Farmer, cnr Ipswich & Annerley Rd, every Monday night from 7-10pm. It's a great way to get your recommended weekly intake of live blues, with different guests each week.
