It is obvious that safety should be paramount for you on a motorcycle.
Indicators are, of course, a critical safety feature of your motorbike.
I have recently corresponded with Mr. Suzuki in Japan, as I asked him to
install indicators on his motorbikes that would slightly melt the retinas
of car drivers every time they looked at them. He is yet to get back to
me on that one. In the meantime, here's something you can do to help with
alerting "cages" of your intentions to turn, which also gives you a better
chance of waking them up so that they don't test their side impact protection
zones with your beloved motorcycle &/or helmet.
This is a simple but useful mod.
In opening up an across indicator, I found that the bulb had no metallised
plastic behind it to reflect the light from the bulb,
and enhance the brightness. This is likely to be just because the manufacturer
is a tight-ass.
So, you can compensate for scrooge by doing it yourself with some common
kitchen foil wrap.
Simply remove the bulb, put the foil around the inside wall of the indicator
holder
(and secure it if you're paranoid that the foil might otherwise move
and obscure the bulb).
No "jenny craig" type tricks here; these pictures are taken at the brightest
point I could in both instances,
to see if there was a noticeable difference with the digital camera.
If you do this mod you will see with your own eyes that it is even
more noticeable than in the photo,
that the foil is very effective in increasing overall brightness.
The whole indicator lens fills with illumination, not just the bulb.
That is why they do this, in part, on your taillight. Why not the indicators?
