Riding Rules:
Safety is our main concern here. Given the terrain we will be riding in, we feel that there should be some guidelines when riding as a group. After all, we don't want to end up as one big pile of chrome on the side of a mountain. For those that have not ridden in a group before, we will use the staggered riding formation (2 columns). You position yourself 2 seconds from the person immediately in front of you which puts you 1 second behind the diagonal bike in front of you. I would suggest that we use this as a basis, but add more time between the riders when the terrain warrants it, maybe 3 to 4 seconds behind the person immediately in front of you. The goal will be to keep the group together as much as possible without jeopardizing anyone's safety. The main thing is to have the group together when we have to navigate through towns. When we stop for gas, getting your bike fueled should be your first priority as we can't leave until everyone has finished. We will go over all of this before we ride each day.
