FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Stormrise

Using whip select to revolutionalise how strategy games are played.

Stormrise is developed to make the migration of a (RTS) strategy (unit based) game across to a console game more easy.

It uses whip select to allow the console on game console machines to control RTS (real time strategy games). In the past, the migration of strategy games over to console games has been difficult. In addition better graphics and the inclusion of a true 3D game environment allows units to climb walls and jump gaps. Units may also be dropped from the air. The whip select allows you to jump from one unit to the other or control units from the vantage point of a controlling unit that may have a good line of sight to the battle.

Whip select also allows you to jump over to the views of airborne units.

The two sides of Stormrise are the Echelon ( a technological force) and the Sai ( a stealthy and often melee orientated force). Heroes help players get through levels and give tantalizing hints of techs that will be available for your side in the future.

This game has been developed for the multiplayer environment.

Sins of a SOLAR EMPIRE real-time strategy. unrivalled scale.

Based on planets linked by phase lanes.

June, 2008 -- A standard empire building game with a new twist that includes ease of zooming from the small scale to the large scale.

This game is designed to be a real time game combined with a turn-based strategy game. This means that it is designed to avoid the standard click-fest of other strategy games.

The Three races in the game are the TEC, The Advent and The Vasari Empire. Interestingly enough The Vasari Empire resembles The Umbra of Vestrii (of the star fire game) to some degree.

The game features smooth zooming that can be at ship level up to galactic level.

The online features are a free service that matches up to 10 players that wish to play the game.

The large scale management of the game that can have as many as 100 star systems. You can sit back and watch your fleets defend planetary systems or even take control of individual ships (or a group of ships) and fight the invaders your self.

The game also adds a black market and pirates that can be bribed into taking the highest offered bounty to attack another player.

Another interesting effect is that your capitol ships gain experience and this unlocks systems.

Overall, I found the game interesting and you can learn more about the game on Sinsofasolarempire.com.

Battle Front 2 Released

Obviously based on Battle Front

November, 2005 -- Battlefront 2 has been released and provides an increased richness to the worlds already developed in the original Battlefront from Star Wars.

A Star Wars type game played by individual characters the can even use vehicles. The current version seems to have various playable Jedi characters. Like an expansion there are new maps that can be played on (called planets) in addition to the original battle front maps. One 'planet' of interest is strangely enough a large asteroid.

Huge star craft are also possibly to be considered as map surfaces that you will get to play on once you fly your ship there or catch a transport ( and dodge all defensive shipping, star-fighters and emplacements ).

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars 4 Released

Obviously based on the concept of team fortress, but there are some differences...

October, 2007 -- Enemy Territory: Quake Wars 4, has not restricted itself to the current set of maps (more maps may be provided in the future), so it is hard to say much about the game. Currently there is a defending side and an attacking side. It is inevitable that the defending side will be pushed back and the attackers will push forward.

This style of missions creates bottle necks of intense action and fighting between sides. This is an entirely different feel to say battlefield or team fortress, where either side side may attack or defend.

Quake also has a unsaid reputation of providing cheats (having earlier Quake titles on the market) and it is still to be seen if the Enemy Territory: Quake Wars 4 servers will prevent this type of player cheating.

Overall, the game plays well and has many interesting devices and things the players can do: Strogg spawn points, build emplacements, spies (changing into the opposite side), artillery attacks, minor missions (such as healing team mates), GDF mini radars and so on.

The different sides also have their own unique personality on the battlefield. The Strogg, for instance, use Stroyent for health and ammo.
