My Recordings on the etree LMA

Band Date Venue Notes
Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers 2008-04-02 Toad's Place
New Haven, CT
Great show with a TON of energy and crowd interaction. Especially bad mouthing the smart, but ugly, Yale students at the show. Kyle Riabko played guitar for the whole show and Fuzz from Deep Bannana Blackout joined in on a couple songs.
Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers 2006-11-25 Turning Point Cafe
Piermont, NY
By far the smallest venue I've ever been in. Sound system wasn't very loud or very good, but the recording is still very listenable. Set up right behind Boots' parents.
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals 2006-09-21 Bearsville Theater
Woodstock, NY
Great show sponsored by WDST. My recording turned out pretty well, but there was a guy there who felt the need to SHOUT between every song. First time using the Silver Hydra cables and it sounds pretty clean.
Guster 2006-08-17 SPAC
Saratoga Springs, NY
Great show with Airport Song (Spooky Version), Joe on Banjo for Barrel of a Gun, and Ryan's SPAC vs Space musings being the highlights.
Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers 2006-06-10 Acoustic Cafe
Bridgeport, CT
GREAT show energy and audience participation. Show was basically sold out (yet you couldn't buy tickets online in advance) so my friend and I were on standby for over an hour. We finally got let in midway through the opening band and were seated in the very back of the venue in a breakfast nook type area. The window opening was only about 6' tall with stuff haning down so I had to run my mics at 5' so there is a lot of talking and laughing. My last recording before upgrading with an AD-20 Pre-Amp and A/D converter.
Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers 2006-04-20 The Chance Theatre
Poughkeepsie, NY
Probably my favorite recording in terms of show energy and quality. My first concert with my new rig. They played one song out in the audience that sounds HORRIBLE (track 11) and I suggest omitting it from a CD you burn.
Pat McGee Band 2006-04-20 The Chance Theatre
Poughkeepsie, NY
I'm not a huge PMB fan, but they were pretty good. Kinda blah and by the numbers in the beginning, but got better as the set went on. The last 2 tracks are acoustic in the crowd and should be omitted as they are really bad.
Tyler Hilton 2006-04-20 The Chance Theatre
Poughkeepsie, NY
Not a bad performer, a bit too teeny bopper for me. Had the mics dead center for this set and then realized that the sound was pretty bad there so I moved my rig for PMB and SK6ers. The volume starts out low and gets progressively louder. This was done by the venue soundman and I didn't do any editing to it.
Virginia Coalition 2005-02-18 Revolution Hall
Troy, NY
Great show and a decent recording. SK6ers co-headlined and were much better, but my A/D converter crapped out halfway through so I lost the digital signal and only got a few songs. For the rest of the show check out the SK6ers recording uploaded by Claude83.
Michael Tolcher 2005-01-30 Northern Lights
Clifton Park, NY
AMAZING show. Recorded with my old gear when my A/D was starting to act up so I didn't use it. There were only about 50 people at the show but the band still had tremendous energy and played forever. Took requests and a lot of audience interaction. Hung out with Michael and the band before the show for some drinks so you here him ask me if I got the recording of one track that they wanted to have for when it came time to do the song for their next CD :)
Guster 2004-07-10 Oakdale Theatre
Wallingford, CT
Stealth recording. It was a triple headlining tour with demigod Ben Folds, Guster and the sucky Rufus Wainwright. Dufus wouldn't allow recording (though BF and Guster both do) so it had to be stealthed. Great show and any time you can get Ben Folds and Guster on the same stage there is pure magic. Left after one song by Dufus, but have the awesome Ben Folds set (he's not allowed on the Archive at this time).
Guster 2004-03-18 RPI Field House
Troy, NY
Great show that had Ingram Hill open who were also great. Probably my best recording with the AT853s > CJB3.
Gavin DeGraw 2004-01-25 Northern Lights
Clifton Park, NY
Went to see Gavin who was a bit of a disappointment live, but became lift time fans of Vaco and Michael Tolcher who opened :)
Michael Tolcher 2004-01-25 Northern Lights
Clifton Park, NY
The band came out suddenly with the lights still on and started playing, had to run from the bar to my rig and missed the first 20 seconds.
Guster 2002-11-21 The Chance Theatre
Poughkeepsie, NY
Pretty bad recording. The venue REFUSED to let me in with my taping gear so I was forced to try to stealth it without planning to do so. I wasn't even going to bother transfering it until I realized nowbody else taped so I finally transfered it a couple years later and the first two songs were completely messed up...think the DAT tape might have been damaged. Only recommended if you were there or are a Guster completist.
Guster 2002-04-26 Marist College
Poughkeepsie, NY
Had Gabe Dixon Band opening which I also uploaded to the Archive, but can't find it now. I'll have to re-upload that one. Didn't bring in a stand and had the mics clipped on my hat in a gym and it still turned out pretty good. Lots of banter and funny little interludes.
