Enlightening Thoughts

HISTORY

These ideas began one century ago in a small region of the Venezuelan Andes on October 26th of 1861 with the birth, in Isnotu, of JOSE GREGORIO HERNANDEZ, who had been the scientific pioneer and guide of medical studies and researches in Venezuela.Hernandez got the Physician title in 1888, and since that date has influenced the lives of the Venezuelan people. His tragic death in 1918 became a national tragedy. We have decided to honor his memory with the presentation of this page.On March 12th, 1895, in Escuque, was born my father JOSE GREGORIO CONTRERAS P., and although the two lived in the same region of South America, did not meet each other until Contreras got the Title of Pharmacist and Chemist in 1917. My father told me that the only a few occasions that he saw him was in The Vargas Hospital of Caracas were they worked during the first decade of the 20th Century.

BACKGROUND
“You cannot solve a problem until you correctly define it”.

Jose Gregorio CONTRERAS P., was born in Escuque (Trujillo State), Venezuela on March 12th, 1895.
In 1917 , he received a diploma in Pharmacology and Chemistry at Central University of Venezuela in Caracas.

In 1938, he published his book: “COMBUSTION CELULAR” which is a study of the relationship, not already understood, between the consumed foods (in the diet) and the origin of numerous diseases.
He died on June 13th, 1958 in Caracas, without the recognition for his extraordinary revelations in COMBUSTION CELULAR.

His son, Dr. Jose G. Contreras M., a Physician since 1950, dedicated all his life to using the treatments his father developed.
Here, Dr. Contreras M. divulges the details of these studies in the U.S.A., a country that seems to accept new ideas more readily, especially in cases where no financial or material benefits are sought.

I wish to gratefully acknowledge the help of all my relatives, patients and English teachers without whose help would not be possible this work.

Vale.
