Cactus, Cattle and Cowboys - On Saturday, August 2nd in West Lorne,just minutes from London and Chatham, off Highway 401, take exit #137 into West Lorne.  Free admision but some individual events have a separate cost.  The Horse Parade is at high noon on August 2nd in downtown West Lorne.  Trail rides on Sunday, August 3rd and Monday August 4th, cost is a donation to the local Trans-Canada Trail Association.  For updated information on this and other events, join us on  Facebook in the Marketing Partners of Western Elgin group.  For parade and trail ride info,  call 519-762-2783 or 1-806-401-2965.

The second annual Al Humphrey Memorial Ride is on August 3rd,starting at Al's Tack Shop, 4812 Vandorf Sideroad, Stouffville, Ontario.  Check in from 7:30 a.m., start times from 8 a.m. with a 25 km marked course through the scenic winding trails of York Regional Park.  Pledges raised by this year's ride will benefit Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, weekend to end breast cancer and Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation Prostate Cancer Research Department. Rider and volunteer registration now open, closes July 20th, rider registration fees are $25.00 before May 31st, $45.00 from June 1st - July 20th.  Please note:  registration will not be taken day of the ride.  Please register early, limit of 300 horses and riders.  Registration and information available at www.alhumphreymemorialride.com

Rusty Gait's 1st Annual Ontario Saddle Club Champion Show is on Saturday, August 30st (rain date is August 31st).  Open to Jr.A, Jr.B and Senior competitors.  ALL SADDLE CLUBS IN ONTARIO ARE ELIGIBLE.   Must be pre-registered by August 20th, $5.00 per class - trophy buckle to each class; $100.00 per club entry fee.  Perpetual palque to High Point Club.  Class list and pertinent details to follow.
