| Penshire Prattle
Billy Raven Penshire is certainly coming off a successful month, December, with our biggest best post War ever! We had 17 participants and 6 of them racked up their post number and addition of numbers in 4 digits, Sam, Bry, Keato, Em, Faith, and Deirdre. The biggest winner, of course, was the house with an addition of over 11 thousand posts. January has 3 birthdays, on the 3rd was Makayla Malfoy's, on the 5th we celebrated Professor Lunar's, and the big party was on the 12th with it being Roger Davies turning ond year older. So far this month we only seen 1 newbie join the Shire fold, that was Missa Faye. Its been a good month with activities as we are currently in a house 'challenge' and we hear more things are coming down the road. Other news, Sapphire had to step into an Assistant Prefect spot with all her Muggle stuff going on, it was hard for her to come in and post and take of her responsibilities as Prefect. Stepping up to Prefect is Emmaline Bagman, moving up from Assistant. We hope to see a lot more of Sapphire and we are happy for Em!! |
| The Crane Train
By Bryony Casten I dont know how it is in the other houses, but Penshires new members have been limited, to say the least. Perhaps theyre all getting lost trying to find their way to the fifth floor? I think I might start putting up signs We dont bite! Fifth floor this way! and hope that it does some good. This month we welcomed one new member, Missa Faye. Welcome to Penshire, Missa! |
| Penshire Prattle: A Jubilant January
By Bry Casten The Penshire Common Room is picking up! In January we had some great planned activities, not to mention some spur-of-the-moment fun and excitement as well! Samuel Craft organized our first Point-a-Thon of the year, and this one was a bit different than all the others weve had yet, directing students more specifically as to how they should earn points. Its still in progress; lets keep our fingers crossed that it can push Penshire up a bit! It was recently announced that Emmaline Bagman, former prefect assistant, and Sapphire Lyze, former prefect, would be switching spots! Sapphie has been unbelievably busy in her Muggle life (I would know, being her sister! I havent seen her in a week!), and she didnt feel like she was holding up her side of the bargain. After talking to Professor Ripley, they worked out a great solutionEmmaline is a new Penshire prefect, and Sapphie is going to stick to being Prefect Assistant for awhile. Congrats Emma, and good luck Sapphire!! |
| Christmas in the Shire
Billy Raven No this isn't going to be about the holiday, per say, but more about some of the 'live' gifts that were given which has caused some amusement in the common room. First, you all know Faith Puppy, the Shire's favorite student who changes into a puppy form? I will warn you though; she has a likening for snagging wands as if they are chew toys! Anyway, in our in-house gift exchange, Professor Lunar gave Professor Ripley (and the house) a puppy! He was quickly named Frodo and is very active. Next Maykay got a pygmy puff, a ball of fluffy fun who she named Edmett, for obvious reasons. Then Lynexe gave me (Billy) a puppy and he is too rad to even tell you about, but his name is Spitz! And we have Oreo, the cat running around too! Now you can see why the house is so active lately, Faith has some pals to cause trouble, I mean, have fun with and throw in a cat and a fuzzy ball with eyes and well, no telling where the adventures will lead to...course everyone had to sign-up for 'poop-scopping' duty if any accidents occurred! |
| They are Inseparatible
Billy Raven Ever since they laid eyes on each other, you see then together all the time. Often they are joined by another and make it a threesome. Running around, chasseing each other, nipping each other's ears and basically getting in trouble. Who am I talking about? Why Frodo, Spitz and sometimes 'puppy'. Sure the common room can be dangerous, they love to drag off cushions from the couches and chairs and don't even leave your wand laying around, it may look like a wand to you, but to them its a chew toy! |
| Muggle Exams Effect Penshire!
Billy Raven Our Head's Up section is fast filling with students needing a bit of time off to study and take exams. Not the Hogwarts types either. Faith was our most recent along with Rose Granger, and Lynexe Couronne. Of course we all wished them well and study cause its important, and hurry back. Mom tells them their Muggle education is number 1 and reminds them to eat and get plenty of rest. We also saw Matilda Maxwell split for a while, but she went camping. I know! But hey, she's not in UK or USA, so her weather is different! I'm sure these folks are going to be the only ones taking some time to do Muggle school work, so be patient with them and wish them luck, you will soon be off doing the same! |

| February Birthdays
- The Wish Master (G) I might be a little biased when it comes to this month, but I think the coolest people are born in February. There's Carly Patterson who was only the second American woman to win gold in the Olympic Gymnastic All-Around in 2004. Presidents Washington, Harrison, and Lincoln join the fray. Clark Gable, Boris Yeltsin, Farrah Fawcett, and Gertrude Stein join the fray. Then there are Norman Rockwell, Charles Lindbergh Jr., Bettye Goldstein, Natalie Imbruglia, Chris Parnell, Babe Ruth, Natalie Cole, Charles Dickens, Chris Rock, Jules Verne, James Dean, John Grisham, Seth Green, Thomas Edison, Leslie Nielsen, Sheryl Crow, Jennifer Aniston, Charles Yeager, Drew Bledsoe, Susan Anthony, Micheal Jordan, Yoko Ono, John Travolta, Vanna White, Smokey Robinson, Jeff Daniels, Jerome Bettis, Alan Rickman, Kelsey Grammer, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Drew Barrymore, Dakota Fanning, Joe Lieberman, George Harrison, Buffalo Bill, Michael Bolton, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Josh Groban, and others. Now, to add to that list, here are the February Birthdays for Gryffindor: - Annie Doyle - Gawyn Crossguard - Megan Miller |
