| Student of the Month
Professor Tom Riddle The Paddington HOH team recognizes Tyler Keegan as our student of the month for January! Tyler has definitely shown a lot of Paddington Pride in the CR! He's a feature writer for the house mag "The Alohomora", he submits articles for the OG every month, he signs up & participates in every house event or contest we hold, he's a member of The Lunar Lights, & a reserve member of the Quidditch Team who just played in his first match as Seeker against Ravenclaw. Tyler always welcomes newbies in the CR, is involved in lots of RPGs, & helps out where he's needed without question. He worked tirelessly on our Ministry of Magic entry we submitted (which won!), he just won the Hospital Wing Contest (along with housemate Chris Candor), & he's recently joined our newly formed Cheer Team. Look for more about Tyler in the next issue of 'The Alohomora!' coming out soon! Congratulations Tyler! We're proud of you! |
| Paddington Piece
By Katie Sawyer For the month of February in the land of the polar bears we're celebrating two birthdays! The first is Joe Nworb's whose birthday is on February 4th. The second is Tara Macmillan's, who's birthday is February 10th. Happy Birthday to both of you! May all your birthday dreams come true!! Other top news stories from the arctic abyss are: - Paddington would like to welcome its newest members Brandon, Paige, Loralei, Aemilia, Alice, & Michelle! It's great to have you among us, guys! - Jenii Chang has returned...again!! Yes, I announced last month she was back, but no sooner did she make her entrance than she was gone again. Let's hope it's for good this time! - The Polar Padfoots lost their Quidditch match against Ravenclaw's Choas Claws, but the game was definitely a heart stopper! It was a nice effort by our team to say the least! Our next match is schedules for January 30th against Gryffindor. Good luck, Paddies!! - The house would like to congratulate Tyler & Chris for their winning Hospital Wing Entry!! Great job, boyz!! It looks fantabulous! - It seems that while the cat's away the mice will play! Mort Johnson has been having computer trouble lately, but his girlfriend, Angel McCartney, seems to be handling it well. She's been seeking solace in the company of Toby McDermont & they've been spamming together all over the CR Chit Chat section! Better get back here soon, Mort, or you might be one girlfriend short! - The Paddies have recently launched their very own Cheer Team which includes both boys & girls! Good luck to you all! |
| Excuses, Excuses, Excuses
By Tyler Keegan When it comes to Jenii Chang, you never know what you�re gonna get. It�s like there�s this revolving door policy with her. She�s there one minute, gone the next, then back, then gone, then back, then gone��..it�s=2 0enough to drive a person mad! Her latest excuse for being gone is that she was sick. But was she? We�ve heard it all from her. First she was moving. Then she didn�t have internet access at her new house. Then I think it was school was getting in the way of online time. Now she�s using the sickness excuse. What�s next, Jenii? I can see it now. She�ll break her fingers in a freak writing accident. When she gets her cast off, her fingers will be too stiff to type anything for at least a good 3 weeks. Once they�re back to normal, she�ll be busy with school again until summer comes. Then she�ll probably be vacationing somewhere different every week all during summer with no wifi access. When school starts back up she�ll say her computer crashed or something. The list goes on & on. What I�d really like to know is what�s the REAL excuse, Jenii? I have some theories; like she�s working with Brady for S.O.C.K.S. or that she�s on covert missions for Prof. Tom as one of his Death Eaters. Or maybe it�s just that she can�t stand dating Toby McDermont anymore but doesn�t know how to tell him, so she just makes up reasons why she�s not around hoping he�ll get tired of her absences & dump her so she doesn�t have to do it. Whatever the real reasons are, Jenii, we want you back full time! |

| New Smiles
Beonca Aims As everyone knows it is tradition for the Headmistress to let each house pick a pack of new smilies for their common rooms. The BB has loads of great ones and we were given the choice of six, and being Slytherin, of course our number one choice was the 'raised eyebrow' one! I mean, come on, our Head of House - Professor Snape, duh! Not only is it one of his beloved traits, each Slytherin has picked up this habit, though some, outside the house, of course, would call it a 'tick'. So often the poor man had to actually type out 'raises left eyebrow' or 'raises right eyebrow', but NO MORE! We celebrate this smile and where it really belongs, anywhere that Professor Snape goes, that is! Now I know other houses wanted this one too, that only shows how revered our great Potions Master is, that others wanted to emulate him! So, raise a glass and raise an eyebrow, here's to the smile that says it all! Now, if they would just find one that denotes 'walks off with robe billowing in a self-made breeze'. LOL |
| Queen of All Things
Beonca Aims Its true, with entering the house in less than two months, Blair VanDurten made a name for her self. Joining the house clubs right away and making banners for not only Quidditch but for other things and being quite active. Everyone could tell she was born to be a Slytherin. Talking in the 3rd person made this girl seem separate from the rest yet she was easy to spam and post with and was not aloof like her postings seemed. Blair was easily the winner of the poll to represent the house as our Yule Ball Queen and took this position seriously even logging into the dance with her title. But again, she made friends easily and could take a good tease and give one at the same time. Not one to sit on the sidelines, she was present at her first Quidditch game and fast became one of our top posters in the house. I�m sure you�ve seen her around, pop her a PM and you will make a great friend. Though the house of Slytherin likes to claim her as their own, she will be loyal to her friends to a fault and likes to be in the thick of things, be it the common room or the BB. So to Blair, thanks for joining PAD�s Hogwarts and may you hang with us for many years to come! |

Beonca Aims Well there is not newbies to report, hopefully that will be changing. As always the games, discussions, and RPGs are going fine. We were so proud to publish an issue of the Daily Prophet with Tani and I doing the writing and maybe next issue more will join this great endeavor. We are still updating the tree, and are planning an �ambush� wedding, see next month�s issue of the Owl Gazette for that story. *sticks out tongue*. Otherwise we�ve been active and working things, some of our house mates had to take short leaves for various Muggle school things, but happily they are return or post when they can. |
