| Interview With Professor Simbi
By Jolie Taylor Last month, Ravenclaw got a new AHOH, Professor Charles Simbi. He teachers mythology and magical myths. I asked him a few questions about his move from Penshire to Ravenclaw. 1. How do you like Ravenclaw so far? Honestly, Ravenclaw has been a lot of fun! Not even two days asfter my initial arrival, I truly felt a part of this house from everyone's warm welcomings and conversations in Spam. I can tell that it's going to be a very interesting and fun year too! 2. What's your favorite part about your new house? My favorite part about my new house is for one everyone's friendliness, but also the fact that there is always someone around to keep you company and to talk to. 3. What was it about Penshire you miss the most? The thing I miss most about Penshire is the Post-A-Thons, as there are a lot of similarities between Penshire and Ravenclaw, but the big thing I noticed was there were no Post-A-Thons, or many of them at least. 4. Do you plan on merging any ideas from Penshire to Ravenclaw? This is definitely a tough one because two houses can function differently based off on one idea, so it's really hard to say. However, if the time omes when a new idea needs to be brought up, we'll see what happens. 5. What caused you to change houses? A big factor of the change was Penshire, in my opinion, is a very stable house in terms and staff and management. Since Ravenclaw lacked a more permanent AHOH and since Professor Fairydust is a very busy woman, it seemed more plausible for me to move to Ravenclaw where I can help out more. 6. Do you regret that choice? As of right now, no, I don't regret my choice in moving houses. And to be quite honest, I don't think I will ever regret my choice either. 7. What were you like as a student? Actually, as a student, I used to be a Ravenclaw WAY back in the day, so it was definitely amazing to come back after so many years. 8. You teach two classes, which one do you like more? I have taught Mythology longer than World Wonders, and have therefore gained more affection for Mythology. Also, it seems that Mythology is much more popular and favored with the students too, so that's something I like to gain from teaching. 9. If you didn't teach what you do now, what would you? Well, I seem to have grown a fascination for Muggle Studies and Care of Magical Creatures, but I highly doubt Professor Lockhart will be giving up his clas since he has been teaching it for years now. As for Muggle Studies, we'll just see what happens with that class later down the road. 10. Anything else you'd like to say? The only thing I can really think of is that I look forward to the new term in Ravenclaw and that I'm sure it'll be an amazing one at that! Interview with Bryony Casten as Head Girl By Cauly Hauster 1. Describe the feeling of being Head Girl. It's sort of like having a birthday. You turn one year older, but do you feel any different? Has an incomprehensible amount of profound knowledge suddenly been dumped into your brain? No. That's sort of how it is for me right now. Sure, I'm Head Girl now, but does it really feel all that different from being a Prefect? No, not really. Except at the End of Term Banquet, everyone there greeted me with more "enthusiasm" than I would have ever imagined. That was pretty cool. Haha. 2. Did you expect that you would become Head Girl? I was pretty sure I had a running chance. Once I made the decision to hand in an application I knew that it was a definite possibility that I would get it, but I definitely wasn't sure. 3. What are some of your duties? That hasn't really been discussed with me yet, LOL. I am still helping out in the Penshire common room with some of the house-staff things, and come start of term I'll be working on registration again with Cedric. I am sure I'll get a PM soon with more information. 4. Have you gotten any advice from Ava Black, former Head Girl? Have I gotten advice? Ava has given me more advice over the past two years than I'll ever know what to do with! Ha! But that advice being specifically in terms of the position-- I suppose she's given me a few points, and as time goes on I'll definitely turn to her if I have questions or want a word of encouragement. 5. Have you gotten any advice from other staff (students or professors)? I wouldn't say that anything has been said in terms of, "You should always remember" or "Try this, it worked for me." However, just in talking to other people and sharing different stories you really learn a lot, so I would say that so many people here have given me "advice," whether they realize it or not. 6. Is preparation begun already for the new term? Perhaps... but anything else would be classified as top-secret information. I said any more than I'd have to kill you. 8. Did you need any special requirements or forms to be Head Girl? There isn't a set "list" of things that you need to have, but I would say that anyone applying for Head Girl have been around long enough to know the ins and outs of the school, have talked to people and made friends both in and outside their house, be willing to learn something new, and above all else want to help and make a difference. :-) |

| Interview With a Newbie: Elina Doyle Edition
By Luna Lovegood and Elina Doyle The other day, I had the pleasure to sit down and talk to one of our newest students in Ravenclaw who is already quite active. Here's our talk. [[LL: Luna Lovegood, ED: Elina Doyle]] LL: Hello! How are you today? ED: Hi, I am feeling wonderful, thank you. How can I not be when I am being interviewed for the first time in my life. LL: Who has been most helpful to you overall? ED: Wow! That's a difficult question. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. Especially Will, I definitely have to mention him because even though I have bugged him with my silly questions, he was quite patient and helpful. LL: What do you enjoy doing most in the common room? ED: Well...anything and everything that I do with my fellow Ravenclaw friends. LL: What is your favorite game? ED: I'm not into sports at all but I do like a good game of chess. LL: How are the people around here? ED: Everyone here is amazing. They are really friendly and helpful. I felt at home the first day that I came here because of them. They care about me and they have never made me feel that I'm new here. LL: Have you made any new friends? ED: Of course, I have made lots of friends here. There are also some I haven't seen yet but are friends with me. LL: Do you belong to any clubs? ED: No, I haven't joined any yet but I hope to join soon. I am just confused because they are all so good. LL: Care to tell me a bit about yourself? ED: Of course, why not? I am Elina Doyle and I am eleven years old now. Well, I guess everyone can understand that because I am a first year. I love to sing and I do play my guitar often. I love to dance too. I love to read mystery and detective novels. I am really scared of spiders and other creepy crawlers. Well... I just ran out of facts about me. LL: Anything you wish to add? ED: I would like to thank all of those who helped me and was friendly with me. Each and everyone one. I would also like to thank you for this opportunity. Thank you all. Interviewing a new student By Ronald Weasley This months newbie: Harmony Hill Lots of kids have joined the wonderful house of Hufflepuff. I've chosen just one of the many newbies to do an exclusive interview on how they are liking Hufflepuff so far. Here's what Harmony had to say. My questions to her 1. Favorite hobbies? 2. Are you liking Hufflepuff? 3. Do you have any best friends in the house yet? 4. Can you describe them? 5. IS there anything you could change about them? 6. Is there anything you would want to change about Hufflepuff? Her answers 1.Reading, writing short stories, and hanging with friends. 2.Very much, the students and teachers alike are wonderful and fun to interact with. 3.I haven't thought about that but I guess I do. They would be Darby, Ron, Teagan, and Kelsie. 4.They all have one thing in common, having fun. But something about each of them is unique. Darby is always upbeat and fun to talk to no matter what time of day. And her nickname (DQ) reminds me of the most awesome ice-cream place ever. Now Ron is someone who loves to have fun and tease people. And doesn't take jokes about him too harshly. Plus he has a talent of making people feel better instantly. TK was one of the first people I met here and it has been worthwhile being her friend. She can always make you laugh and loves to stir things up once in awhile, all in good fun of course. It's been a short while since I have known Kelsie, and I'm still getting to know her, but she is a very easy person to talk to. She always says what's on her mind, which is one thing I like about her. It's the real-deal with her. 5.No, they are great the way they are and don't need to be changed. 6.As far as I know, Hufflepuff is pretty good just the way it is. The students are always active and have lots of house pride. The HOH and the AHOH make the house exciting and enjoyable. |

| My Interview with Bryony Casten
By Sapph Lyze 1.) What are your feelings about becoming the new Head Girl? I'm really excited to take the step up and I'm looking forward to getting started. 2.) How do you feel about having to fill the shoes of former Head Girl, Ava Black? It's an arduous task but I'm looking forward to the challenge and I have confidence in my abilities. 3.) Why do you think you got chosen for Head Girl? Because I'm awesome. Haha, just kidding. I think that in my application I did a pretty good job of explaining my motives and I've been here for awhile- the admins know me pretty well (at least, I'd like to think they do), and that always helps. 4.) What would you say to anybody who wants to become Head Girl next term? I would say work hard, be friendly, talk to people, don't be afraid to share your ideas, and have a good attitude about things. 5.) Do you think your seniority on the site helped you get the position? Not my seniority so to say, but being a member for almost three years has prepared me to do the job well. 6.) How would you have felt if you were appointed a Prefect? I would have still been just as happy- it was sort of a last minute thing for me to apply for Head Girl. 7.) How did you feel when you were told that you are the new Head Girl? I was really excited and the fact that my sister Sapphie got promoted to Prefect at the same time only made it better. 8.) What do you look forward to the most in your new position? I'm the only person in the school that has a badge saying Head Girl. Haha. And the edit line doesn't come up in my Staff Lounge posts anymore- and because I edit practically every post I ever make, that's a big deal. LOL. Interview With Will Potter - The New Senior Prefect! By Sir Hugo Tien and Will Potter HT: So, Senior Prefect, eh? WP: Yep. Senior Prefect. I'm so excited to get started. There are so many things that I want to do this year. HT: How does it feel to go from prefect to senior prefect? Any different? WP: A little, I guess. I now have more things to do, and I am in charge of more things. I also have more people to boss manage. HT: How do you like the new staff you're working with this term? WP: I love the new staff. I couldn't ask for a better one. My prefects, Arya and Luna, are great, and the prefect assistants are amazing too. HT: What do you plan to accomplish as a senior prefect? WP: I hope to get everyone in the house even more involved than it is now. I have a couple of new activities and ideas, so there are some things to be looking for in the coming year. B) HT: Well, it was a pleasure talking with you! ^_^ |

| Interview With a Prefect Assistant. By Jolie Taylor Recently, Ravenclaw appointed new staff members. One being the new Prefect Assistant, Erica Lovegood. I asked her a few questions about her new job. How do you feel about being Ravenclaw's newest Prefect Assistant? Great! I'm glad that I was able to get the job. What are you looking forward to most about your new job? I suppose helping out around the Common Room more. I wanted to get more integrated into the this house and felt that trying for PA was the way to do it. And the least? I guess it would be losing some of my free time. What do you think will be the hardest part about your job? The hardest part? I think it would be making sure I get everything done. I'm not dropping any of my current club activities this year so I have to make sure I'm more organized. Why did you apply in the first place? Like I said before, I wanted to be more integrated into the house. I wanted to apply to help out with what I can. Prefect's assistant seemed like the perfect idea of what I wanted to do. What do you think you'll try to do to make Ravenclaw better with your new power? Probably basic things like helping people with the rules, organizing activities, or giving out my ideas. A small thing can go a long way! Interview With a Newbie: Ladius Potter Edition By Luna Lovegood and Ladius Potter [[LL: Luna Lovegood, LP: Ladius Potter]] LL: Hello! How are you today? LP: I'm fine. LL: Who has been most helpful to you overall? LP: Probably Roxas. LL: What do you enjoy doing most in the common room? LP: Posting. LL: What is your favorite game? LP: Spam-o-lot. LL: How are the people around here? LP: The people are great! LL: Have you made any new friends? LP: Yes, I have. LL: Do you belong to any clubs? LP: No. LL: Care to tell me a bit about yourself? | Interview With Myself
By Jolie Taylor Have you ever wanted to stop and ask yourself a bunch of questions about who you are, what youre doing, and where youre going? Well, so have I. So, I thought Id take the time to share with all of you the answers I got when I asked myself a few questions. The answers shocked me. How are you today? Fine, I guess. Why do you think youre a Ravenclaw? Well, I love to read, and I guess Im a little smart. I really love to learn, and I think knowledge is really important. So, why are you so shy? Ummthats a tough one. I guess its because Im worried about what others will say about me. I dont want to be deemed a loser, so I try to keep my distance so they dont see the weird side of me. What do you think is the meaning of life? How should I know?! Im only eleven! Are you happy? Uh, yea, I suppose. What do you hope to accomplish by the end of this term? Well, I hope to have some more friends. And I also want to consider taking my OWLs soon. Do you have any other advice for people? Well, to be perfectly honest, not really. Im not some enlightened being, I dont have all the answers! Well, there you go. I bet after reading that, youre curious about what you have to say, arent you? An Interview With Arya By Luna Lovegood and Arya Dottningu, and a little of Erica Lovegood [[LL: Luna, AD: Arya, EL: Erica]] LL: So, I suppose that you know why I'm interviewing you, right? AD: Yeah EL: *interrupts* Why? Her siggie? LL: Nope. I'm going to write an article about that one, actually. Now, back to Arya: Good. Thats a start. So, how have you been adjusting to your new position. You just jumped in there, didn't you? lol AD: Yeah. It's working well so far, seeing as I haven't really done much yet, but I'm sure when I do get more work, I'll do fine; I have a bit of time on my hands LL: Well, thats good. What do you hope to accomplish with your new title? AD: Pff...well, I hope I can do as well as past prefects and help keep this site as awesome as it is! LL: What do you think of the other new staff? AD: They're great! Except for one. You know, that Lovegood prefect, I don't know about her. There might be a slight problem there. XD LL: You're just saying that! She has to be your favorite of the new group of staff! And she proably was your favorite last term, too. You know that much is true! AD: uh-huh LL: Well, anyways. Back to your interview. What is the first thing that you're going to do when you get your new power? AD: Well, y'know...POST LIKE CRAZY, OF COURSE! Because someone did just that earlier to beat me *raises eyebrow at Luna* LL: I just have to add that I have to stay ahead as top poster. And, anyways, you're quite far away from me. And that I am already ahead of you so there is no reason to have to try to beat you. Hahaha...Anyways...Is there anything else you would like to add? AD: You know what I mean, Luna And yes...THIS SCHOOL ROCKS!! WOOT! LL: Thanks for the interview. I can't wait to get to work with you! *evil devious look* A Talk With Squiddy By Luna Lovegood Recently I've gotten the chance to have a talk to the Giant Squid in the Black Lake. I wanted to see what he thought of all the rumors about the two of us. Here it is. [[LL: Luna Lovegood, GS: Giant Squid]] LL: Hey Squiddy. GS: ooh? LL: So, what do you think of all the rumors about us in the last OG? GS: Umors out us? Oh ee? LL: Yes, rumors about us. Have you not heard them yet?! GS: at umors? LL: How have you not heard those rumors?! GS: eye ive in a ake. LL: Oh. GS: at umors? LL: About us. You know, how we were supposed to go to the End of Term Banquet together. GS: ooh are oo? LL: - smacks forehead So, there you have it. The Giant Squid didn't even know about them. |
