| Penshires Win Quidditch Cup!
By Rofl After attending every match during the Quidditch season, it was apparent to me that the Penshire students had put together one amazing Quidditch team. Everyone there had been working together for nearly two years, and knew each others strengths and weaknesses as well as they knew their own. It was astounding to see the Penshires dominate the season, and with their dangerous team of chasers, it was easy to see that they were obviously the team to beat. Ravenclaw came close to beating them in one of the most cutthroat games of Quidditch that I had ever seen, but in the end, the Eagles were beaten, and Penshire went on to face Gryffindors team, and win again. Theyve kept the Quidditch Cup, much like Gryffindor did at the very beginning of Quidditch here at Hogwarts. For those who are unaware, Gryffindor, Slytherin and Penshire are the only houses that have ever held the Quidditch Cup. Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw have never won it, and Paddington, is, of course, new to the school. With each team doubtlessly training incredibly hard during the summer, it will be interesting to see who emerges as frontrunners next season, and even more so, who wins. |

| Penshire Wins The Quidditch Cup
By Ava Black Penshire has managed to hold the Quidditch Cup two years in a row! I give most of that credit to Captain Bryony Casten, she knew the rules and kept the entire team playing at their personal best. She scheduled practices and even sent reminders to players if need be! I would say that our MVP for Penshires Quidditch Team was Bryony Casten! |

| Ravenclaw versus Slytherin!
By Riley Jake From May 29 to June 12, Ravenclaws and Slytherins took their places on the Quidditch pitch to play against each other in the last Quidditch match of the 07-08 school year. Arya Drottningu, Luna Lovegood and Erica Lovegood were playing chaser for Ravenclaw, Will Potter and Joe Nworb, a recent Paddington transferee played beater, Raelyn Ethania was the Ravenclaw keeper, and Myrrima Goldenleaf played seeker. For Slytherin, Eltanin Wemyss, Gred Weasley (later Oriana Bloom), and I were chasers, Jenii Chang, recent transferee to Paddington, and Oriana Bloom (later Gred Weasley) were beaters, Beonca Aims was keeper, and Jess Dark Wing was seeker. The Ravenclaw chasers made many, many attempts, and a good number of them were blocked by the Silver Serpents' keeper, Beonca Aims. However, in the end, Myrrima caught the snitch, thus leaving the Serpents with a 1-3 season, and Ravenclaw with a 2-2 season, giving Ravenclaw third place in Quidditch for the 07-08 term. In Interview with a Quidditch Attendee By Beonca Aims As you all know, Professor Snape hasnt missed a game for over two terms now, no matter who is playing! That says something about his dedication to the school and to the game itself! I had a few questions for him about this habit of showing up at every game. BA: Sir, you seem to go to every game of Quidditch no matter who plays. SP: Is there a question in there? BA: (Laughs) No, but here is one, why do you go to every game? SP: Simple, Quidditch is a thinking persons game, not just a bunch of people flying around on brooms. BA: Could you elaborate? SP: Look at the rules! You think they are not something that was given a lot of thought? Each and every rule was created to make the game fair and interesting. You can tell a lot of work went into making them and they constantly are reviewed and sometimes revised. BA: What else makes you go, sir? SP: Each player has to work at it and every position is important to the game. I have watched lackluster teams become better as they play more games. I find it interesting to see a player become better at this task. BA: I never thought of it that way, I just wanted to see who won. SP: Theres the rub, there is more to Quidditch then passing the ball around Miss Aims. BA: (Shakes head yes.) Umand your canopy? SP: What about it? BA: Well, sir, we cant but notice it. SP: Miss Aims, you of all people should know I detest bright sunlight, not good for the eyes or the skin. Besides, I like making an area that those of like mind can sit under and share. BA: And Professor Ripleys umbrellas? SP: (Smirk) Typical of her, multi-colored umbrellasI would rather have one solid area above me, who knows when her charm is going to fail and those umbrellas will go flying in all directions causing havoc. I think they are a hazard to the players and those sitting in the stands, but seeshe gets away with it. BA: They are pretty. (Shrinks) Well, thanks sir for the insight! See you at the next game! |

| 5C Chaos Claw Cheer Crew Captain!
By A Chaos Claw Cheer Crew Member With all of the transfers and staff changes in Ravenclaw, were missing some key positions. One of which is the Chaos Claws Cheer Crew Captaincy position. At the beginning of the term, hopeful young Crew Members submitted their name and their reasons for wanting the position. The administration wont release the names, due to confidentiality reasons. But I wish luck to all who applied, and I cant wait to see who our captain will be! GO CHAOS CLAWS!!! New Quidditch Awards! By Yarly With the end of the Quidditch season, and the awarding of the Quidditch Cup to the house of Penshire, also came an announcement from Cedric Cenn Faelad, current Head Boy and Quidditch Chairman. He introduced new awards that would work in a similar fashion to the Quidditch and House Cups. Theres the Most Contributing Chaser award, the Most Keen Keeper award, the Most Skillfull Seeker award and the Boldest Beater award. Besides all of having amusing alliterating titles, these awards were all given to students who made interesting posts during the match, and were able to play without any rule infractions during the matches. So, congratulations to all that won the above mentioned awards. And good luck to those who wish to claim them next season. |

| Most Contributing Chaser Award
By Idk This award was given to Bryony Casten of Penshire, former Prefect, and new Head Girl, for her outstanding performance as a chaser during Quidditch matches. The most notable qualities about the girls playing are that shes fierce, interesting and from what Ive seen, knows the rules of Quidditch like the back of her hand. I once spoke with her about Quidditch, and she said that she wouldve liked to try playing another position, but its clear that shes spent a lot of time perfecting her skills as a chaser, so its no wonder that she was given this award. Most Skillful Seeker Award By Idk The award for seekers was given to Hilary Stevens, one of the Gryffindor prefects. I was there during the Gryffindor versus Ravenclaw Quidditch game, and was able to see her make a spectacular catch during the game. As a seeker, shes shown constant vigilance when going after the snitch, and has only not caught the snitch during one match in her Quidditch career. Its no wonder that she was able to win the award for seekers. |

| Boldest Beater Award
By Idk The award for beaters was given to Will Potter of Ravenclaw, the new Senior Prefect. Throughout the entire season, Ive seen Wills superb beater skills. His timing is impeccable, and is always able to stop the opposing teams chasers in their tracks. He acts quickly, often before the other teams beaters, and oftentimes is able to aid in a goal attempt for Ravenclaw. Its no wonder that he was able to win the award for beaters. Most Keen Keeper Award By Idk The award for outstanding keeper skills went to Ava Black of Penshire, former Head Girl. Throughout the entire Quidditch season, this spectator has seen Avas superb keeper skills at work. Her skills havent been matched, and I havent seen a keeper that can match her vigilance when the quaffle is coming towards her. Its no wonder that she was able to win the award for keepers, especially since it seems as though shes been working at the position for over a year. |

| Most Supportive Professor Award
By Idk One of the awards that Cedric mentioned in his announcement was the Most Supportive Professor award, a one-time event, unlike all the other new awards that had been created. This award was for showing up to the most amount of Quidditch games and lending moral support during the matches. This award was given to Professor Snape, who has shown up to many Quidditch games, whether or not Slytherin was playing during the match. During my first match as a spectator, I noticed that he had set up an umbrella, and people were congregating together underneath it. Its no wonder that he won the award, especially since he has shown up to many, if not every, match that has taken place in order to lend his support. |

| It's Not Over Yet
By Riley Jake While the Silver Serpents didn't exactly have the best season of Quidditch last term, we plan on spending a lot of time training to be the ones that walk away with the Quidditch Cup next term. Don't count on a match against us to be a victory! We plan on training harder than we ever have before for Quidditch, so watch out Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Paddington, and especially Penshire, because the Serpents are coming straight for the Quidditch Cup! |
End of Season Quidditch Party!
By Riley Jake Even though the Silver Serpents didn't walk away with the Quidditch Cup this term, students from Slytherin house had organized a picnic for their house on the school grounds. The day kicked off pretty normal enough, with ThreatsPimp up to his usual antics, and Slytherin students deciding on racing each other around the grounds, but ended unpredictably (and I'm not talking about what Professor Snape was wearing), but unfortunately, what really happened is a house secret. *shifty* |

| New Death Eaters/ New PAD!!!
Written by the Privvy of Paddington In the heart of the newest house, Paddington, certain members had just finished arguing about a fiasco involving three Professors, two students, some awful pictures, a Christmas list, and a very powerful bit of shampoo, a new rumor unfolded. Professor Tom Riddle, world renowned for his work as Dark Lord, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, claimed that his students, Joanna and Toby, would be recruited as faithful death eaters!! While this is only a rumor, an inside-the-house source claims that Toby has been rubbing his left arm a lot lately, and Joanna wearing long sleeve shirts in June! Could they be concealing something?!?!?! Deeper into the rumor we dive as Joanna, angry at the accusation, claimed that Professor Riddle turned himself into PAD for doing such a unspeakable deed! Clearly misunderstanding the message, Tommy said, "........but I must say I looked darn good in her robes!" Who knows whether or not PAD is who we think she is, or if the Dark Lord, our lovable Head of House, has a bit more control over Hogwarts then anyone could've imagined, and that his army is growing! Rumor Has It By A Slytherin Well, well, this snoop has been keeping tabs on a few couples around the school, short of catching anyone snogging, there sure is a lot of hand-holding going on! A certain Weasley, and not Gred, has been a busy boy at the End of Term Banquet RPG. Then there is the Crazy Claws who got the name not because they are points-crazy, justcrazy. Was there some punch-spiking going on or are they always that way? Spotted swimming in the lake was a group of first year Gryffindors; did anyone tell them skipping stones across the lake will make the Giant Squid mad, or where they set-up by the CCs? And where are all the first year Hufflepuffs? I mean with Professor Snape busy with Summer Potions, there must be another reason for the disappearances. Did Professor Lockhart finally get a hold of the mirror of all mirrors? And now the young Huffies are stuck in a room admiring themselves and their dreams of being Quidditch captains or Senior Prefects? Havent seen a lot of the Shirelings either, did they paint themselves into a corner? Im sure they are creative enough to find a way out of that one! And the Paddies, are all new sortings going to that house as if Professor Riddle has put a spell on the Hat to fill his house, think about it. (Hides) |

| Paddington Missing!
By Akaj Yelir This reporter is saddened to say that a first year Paddington, while searching around the Forbidden Forest, is rumored to have disappeared from school grounds. Some of those present at the time of the incident include Arya Drottningu, a new Ravenclaw prefect, Sir Hugo, Ravenclaw's house ghost, Erica Lovegood, a new Prefect Assistant, as well as Trystiana Radek, a second year Gryffindor. All of them were equally shocked when the young Paddington, Joanna Sylver disappeared from their sight into the forest. They rumored spent two hours searching for the young Paddington, but to no avail. Later on, this reporter saw Joanna, but believe her to not be Joa. So she is missing. Really. At least, I think. *blinks* A Shampooing Fiasco Written By The Privvy of Paddington Deep within the House of Paddington in it's first few days of existence, a circle of rumors have unfolded. I am only here to spread the news, you are your own judge, as I said these are only rumors. Said by a certain Professor, "[Professor] Lockhart was seen shampooing [Professor] Snape's hair in the prefect's bathroom!" Not only is this a violation of the rules that Teachers are only to enter the Prefect Bathroom if necessary, it is against all known rules of the way the universe is supposed to run! While again, this is only a rumor, many have said that the Slytherin Head's hair hasn't looked better in years then it did last week! The rumors deepened dramatically as certain members of the House of Paddington were placed at the scene of the crime! A student suggested that Professor Tom Riddle was present and assisting Professor Gilderoy Lockhart with the shampooing! Riddle in turn stated that the student, Joanna, was taking pictures of the event, and she claimed that it was on her Head of House's instructions that these pictures be taken! Prof. Riddle didn't deny this but added to the fire by saying, "...and when she didn't do it as he instructed, he crossed her name off his xmas list!" In her anger of be taken from the Christmas list of the very generous Head of Paddington, Joanna claimed that she sent the photographs into Hogwarts' own Owl Gazette, and a friend of Joanna's, Toby Mcdermont, stated that he helped the girl by adding captions to the pictures! Readers keep your eyes peeled, though it should be hard to miss! |

| More Paddington Rumors
Written By the Privvy of Paddington After a bizarre Shampooing event and the recruitment of Death Eaters and a new Professor Alba Dumbledore, here are the remanding rumors out of Paddington this month; After discussion on the terms 'Snape' and Undying Love', Ali Goldstein stated, "Rumor has it Snape will hunt down anyone who declares undying love for him in public," she went on to say that privately is a different matter, however! The above rumor led to a discussion on a conflict between Professor Snape and Ali over the Great Squid, when Jenii Chang revealed that, "Rumor has it the squid is really an octopus under disquise!" Prefect Brady Lennox announced to the House that, "Rumor has it that Jenii is planning on putting rats into Prof. Tommy's bed!" Professor Tommy responded with a threat to torture Jenii with a hated smilie of hers! Jenii, the house's Senior Prefect, said that if she is tortured she will quit her job! Is PAD's staff abusive?!?! Carrie Berry tattled on her friend, Lana, saying that, "Rumor has it Lana was seen putting glue on the teacher lounge door knob!" No wonder everyone was having trouble disarming Professor Snape in Defense Class! It wasn't real magic! Lana responded angrily saying, "Rumor has it that Carrie teases the Giant Squid with dog treats!" DISCLAIMER: These are all Rumors, and I am not one to say if they are true or not! Many of them have certain bit of evidence, but that's all I can tell you! You be the Judge! |
