The Last Match!
By Sir Hugo Tien

The last match of the Quidditch Season is here! This will be my first ever match to attend, but I have heard that this is the match that will decide the third place winner, along with the fourth and fifth. First and second have already been decided, and I've heard that that was a very interesting game! We shall see who wins: Ravenclaw...or Slytherin?
It's (not) Over!
By Lynn Jennings

That's right; the Quidditch season has almost come to a close. And what a great almost-last one it was. This year, the second last match was between Penshire and Gryffindor. It was a really intense match with great plays on either side. However, in the end, it turned out to be a win for Penshire. Before the snitch was caught, the score was 50-20 to Penshire. Then, Sapphire Lyze of Penshire caught the snitch. Both teams did excellent jobs. Great job to both Gryffindor and Penshire for making it to end of the year, and congratulations to Penshire for winning the Quidditch cup.
The Last Quidditch Match of the Season
By Arya Drottningu

The last Quidditch match of the season is coming up! The house to claim the Quidditch Cup has already been decided, but the third place house is to be decided by this match! Ravenclaws and Slytherins are getting ready for the game to come and the game is getting ever closer. Who will win this game? It won't be too long before we know.
Quidditch Party in the PCR!

Dont stop the hip-hop!  In the PCR there is a party celebrating Penshires win over every other house in Quidditch this year.  The surprise Quidditch shing-ding was started the day that Penshire won their last match.  Party in the PCR RPG section!  Many people are there having fun and looking forward to a new season of our beloved quidditch.
Quidditch Interview with Samuel Craft
By Cauly Hauster

Well, how about that Quidditch game? For two weeks, Penshire and Gryffindor fought each other for the win. At 200 to 20, the points outweighed the effort for the Lions and the Cranes experienced a victory. After this game, the Shirelings would say good-bye to the Quidditch Pitch in this season. They had no more games to play.
Nevertheless, they came out splendidly. When someone looks there at their record, not a mistake will be seen there. That team had reached the finish line without a single loss. After their last performance, the Cranes went crazy with a celebration in their common room.

Here are some quotes from Sam:

What are your team's strengths?
Well, the Crafty Cranes are definitely known for their impeccable timing. We're always ready to react and pass the quaffle to each other with minimum interceptions from the other time.

What are their weaknesses?
Honestly, it's rather hard to think of some weaknesses, and I know it may seem a little bit conceited too. However, Penshire does play a fair game and we always play our best, which I think is most important. I suppose our weakness would be to get all of our chasers on at the same time.

What, probably, describes your best played game?
Amazing. When the Crafty Cranes get onto the Pitch, they play with class, high spirits, and amazing skills that has lead us to be undefeated for two consecutive terms. We always play our best, as I have said, and our positive attitude and team work has lead us to become victorious.

Which one got most exciting?
Our match against Hufflepuff would have to be our most exciting one. There were several events that occured in the match, such as bludger hitting and spell casting, that made the match very interesting to watch.

What is your favorite thing about Quidditch?
My favorite thing about Quidditch would have to be the fast pace that the matches are in. There is rare time when things are very sluggish and boring, and there are always several ways to make the matchs more exciting.

At what point in your final game did you think that you would win the game?
Well, the only part in a Quidditch match when I'm absolutely positive we would win is when Sapphire caught the snitch. Since Penshire has never earned over 150 points in quaffle goals, the only real assurance is at the very end when the snitch is caught.

When, if any time, do the games make you nervous?
The only time games make me nervous is when all of the chasers are not on at the same time and when the opposing team shoots the quaffle.

What has been the best play, yet?
In my opinion, our best play yet was in our last game against Gryffindor. We used our speed to our advantage and was able to score on the Gryffindor team without them noticing what had happened.
Hogwarts Quidditch
By Bryony Casten

The PADs Hogwarts 2007-2008 Quidditch season is nearly over!  All year teams from the five houses battled each other in good spirits to fight for the Quidditch Cup.  Penshire and Gryffindor were the most recent team to take to the fieldand although the game was close the Cranes managed to pull off another win, leaving them undefeated for the second consecutive season.  The Lions certainly made us work, howeverand Penshire gives them a hearty congrats for having such an awesome team. Ravenclaw and Slytherin take to the pitch this week in the final match of the season.  From everything Ive seen so far this year, its going to be as evenly matched a game as there ever was, and I look forward to cheering in the stands and seeing the winner!
That Which Doesn't Kill Us Can Only Make Us Stronger
By Lynn Jennings

Recently, Penshire beat our house in the second last Quidditch match of the year. Personally, I was a little disappointed for obvious reasons. However, I'm not going to deny that they played the better match. However, we in Gryffindor aren't going to take this lying down. The day the snitch was caught, we immediately began making plans to better our team next year. We're planning a summer training program to get all of our players to become stars. This way, if one of our players has to sit out for some reason, our team isn't badly hurt. We hope that this new training method will help us win the Quidditch cup not only this year, but all the years to come.
Chaos Claws Captain
By Arya Drottningu

Myrrima Goldenleaf, the current Chaos Claws Captain has announced that she won't be able to be captain in the next term. This being, Ravenclaw has begun the search for a new captain worthy of the position.  Sometime soon, we shall know who will lead the team to victory in the next year!
4C's Captain
By Arya Drottningu

Melanie Monopoly has relieved the role of Chaos Claws Cheer Crew Captain with her leaving of Ravenclaw. It's saddening to see her go, but Ravenclaw is on top of things and now looking for a new 4C's Captain. Soon, we shall know who will take Mel's spot as Captain!
Quidditch Interview with Bryony Casten
By Cauly Hauster

What are your team's strengths?
Our team has near-flawless communication skills. We have learned to work together and to talk to each other when deciding what the best move is in any given situation. We never see a setback as one single persons problemrather, we look at the team as one entity and figure out how to solve the problem together. If someone has a question, it is asked and another team member will help answer it. If someone sees a loophole somewhere, they mention it and we discuss how it would be best to approach it. More than anything else effective communication between every player is what helped us get to where we are.

What are their weaknesses?

Id say that we cant ever keep the same players all game! In the past two years we havent had one game were we didnt have to sub somebody out or switch positionsand it usually happens more than once a game! That sometimes throws a wrench into things because it takes some getting used to with a new player and getting back into the rhythm of things, but I cant say it has had any particularly lasting harmful effects.

What, probably, describes your best played game?
Well, our game with Hufflepuff this season was tremendously successful in terms of scoring, but theres a lot more to quidditch than thatso Id say it was our game against Ravenclaw. That game really forced us to work together more so than we ever had in the past, and I think that every team member put their whole heart and sole into playing that game. We had to make everything we had done all season even more tight and refined in order to win that one, because the Claws are a fast team!

Which one got most exciting?
Thats a really hard call! At the time ever match seemed more and more exciting than the last! I suppose Id call it a toss-up between the Gryffindor match and the Ravenclaw matchthe Lions because it was the last of the season and was by far the most important, but also the Raves because that was the first game we really had to pull out all the stops and play.

What is your favorite thing about Quidditch?
I love that moment of realization when you figure out the perfect way to execute what you want done. Sometimes well spend whole days trying to figure out the best way to work the situation at hand, and when you realize theres a way to twist the game to do exactly what you want it tothats a pretty amazing feeling. On a slightly different note, but still answering the question for sureI like to role-play, and the quidditch games are a great opportunity for playing something different and interacting with people you probably wouldnt have otherwise.

At what point in your final game did you think that you would win the game?
This might sound funny, but here was my exact thought process. Around noon on Friday (the day the match was scheduled to end), I saw Hilary on the BB. She was around off and on for the next few hours, and I felt certain that she would have posted if Cedric had sent her a PM telling her that shed caught the snitch. I knew Cedric had been online earlier that morning, and I was confident that he had already sent them out. Thus, seeing Hilary not post, I began to think that wed wonotherwise she would have been excited to post in the match saying shed caught it. I was way off the mark, of coursebecause Sapphire got home around three and didnt have a PM either! (For those of you who dont know, Sapphie is my RL sister). Suddenly everything Id thought earlier went out the window because I realized Cedric simply hadnt sent them yet! After that it was all up for grabs. I had hoped wed won, and I knew we played a really good game, but I definitely wasnt sure who would win by any stretch of the imagination.

When, if any time, do the games make you nervous?
Oh my gosh, I get so nervous during games! I feel like such a dork saying that, but its perfectly true! Whenever our chasers go for a shot I always get a rush of adrenaline and butterflies in my stomach, because theres always the chance that the opposing team will intercept and ruin our plan! So every time we shoot I get nervous, and generally the last two days of a match Im always on edge too, because I just want to know what the final outcome is!

What has been the best play, yet?
Well, in terms of teams weve played I will say that every single house always puts up a tremendous fight! We havent ever taken a game lightly in terms of who were playing, because if we know anything about Quidditch its that anything and everything is possible! In terms of the players on our team specifically, there is no way to single out just one person. Like I said earlier, we are one entityif one player does well, everyone does well. If one player makes a mistake, everyone will work to fix it. There is no way we could have possibly come this far without this kind of mindset. We are officially, no doubts about it, a team.
Gryffindor Cheer Club Update
By Fiona Chauvet

The Cheer Club has always been a big part of the clubs in the Gryffindor common room, and this past month saw a lot of happenings for the club and its members. First off, we welcomed a few new members into the club; Cissa, Trysti, Kaylee and Karine. Our captain, Megan Miller, and co-captain, Lily Duncan, scheduled our first practice and we saw a great turn out. There's a lot of spirit and energy in the club, and it's something we haven't seen in awhile. So far the club is on a great path. With a little more practice and time we'll be the best cheer team at Hogwarts. So all you other cheer clubs better watch out!
Quidditch Cup!
By Broccoli

Penshire has won the Quidditch Cup for the second time in a row!  Our congrats to the Gryffindor team for putting up a fierce battle.  The Crafty Cranes used their creativity, wit, and activity to create an unbeatable strategy.  When asking one of the players if they would keep the same strategy next year, they answered, To give that information to the other houses would be like giving up all chances of the Quidditch Cup next year so in the nicest way possible, keep dreaming!
Quidditch Cup: Sealed Victory, or Not?
By Hogwarts favorite Quidditch geek!

After a very exciting match where the two top teams, Penshire and Gryffindor faced off and Penshire won it is believed that they have won the quidditch cup. But that is not quite true. There is still one more match to be played, Slytherin vs. Ravenclaw. If either team scores enough points then they could win the quidditch cup. I would sure hate to be a Penshire that had the cup snatched away from them after nearly a month of believing it was theres. Until then all we can do is wait but I for one will be down at the pitch watching and listening.
Paddington
By Arya Drottningu

The new, sixth house is finally here and we're all excited! It's time to meet all the new students and now there's another house to compete against for the House Cup and Quidditch Cup! The tension rises. Will Paddington beat Penshire next year in claiming the Quidditch Cup? Will Paddington give the other houses a run for their money for the House Cup? We'll see what this new house brings with it.
Quidditch Interview with Sapphire Lyze
By Cauly Hauster

What are your team's strengths?
The Cranes' most exceptional strengths are our strategy and that we have very active members. Our team members check online pretty much every hour, which definitely helps us to create an impeccable strategy that relies on our activity.

What are their weaknesses?
Penshire's weakness is probably the fact that when the other team can't post, we tend to stall to a bit before we post again. Sometimes it gets out of hand, and the entire game gets slowed down.

What, probably, describes your best played game?
Our best played game this season would have to be the match against Ravenclaw. They put up quite a fight and we had some trouble keeping our cool throughout the game.

Which one got most exciting?
The most exciting game was the most recent match for us; the game we played against Gryffindor. Seeing as this was the last match that we had to win to be undefeated for two years, it was already nerve racking. And then it was late Friday afternoon when I got the Seeker PM, and normally I get it early morning/early afternoon.

What is your favorite thing about Quidditch?
The thing that love the most about Quidditch is getting to post catching the Snitch. That one post usually either makes or breaks a team's hopes and when we catch the Snitch and that I get to write that post it feels amazing.

At what point in your final game did you think that you would win the game?
The point that I thought we were going to win in the last match was when we were up by twenty points. I had a really good feeling in my stomach since we were already up and I got my hopes up.

When, if any time, do the games make you nervous?
When I send Cedric my answers to the Seeker PM I'm unbelievably nervous. Also, when I'm about to open the response to my PM, telling whether or not we caught it, I'm a nervous wreck.

What has been the best play, yet?

The best play yet would have to be when we realized when the other team could and couldn't do anything. It put our team into a great position, and not many other teams took advantage of that.

As anyone would could see there, the Cranes truly have a great Quidditch team in talent, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Now, the team finished the season. We will see everyone next year!
Summer Quidditch?
By A Penshire Student

End of Term also means the end of the Hogwarts Quidditch Season all teams will have played one another one time each and the Quidditch Cup will have been awarded.  What, then, will hold players and spectators over until next term?  In the past, the summer has been a time for Professor vs. Prefects quidditch games, broomstick racing, and a host of other things.  Perhaps well see a return of one or more of this things this summer.  Also in the running are the co-house teams, which was started earlier this term but put on hold until the summer.  It could be possible to see a comeback by the idea for house-mingled teams.
All Games Well Played
By A Penshire

I would like to start off by saying that this Quidditch season was a roaring success.  Every single game was exciting and had some element of surprise, whether it was contrived by the players as they role-played, the conditions of the game, or the winner of each game.  All teams won at least one match, which is always good to seeteams were evenly matched and played hard every time they came onto the pitch.  Now that the season is wrapping up, I just want to offer every single person who played Quidditch this season, on all teams, a very hearty congratulations, because this season was definitely one of the best Ive seen.  And the spectators tooall those who came to support playersQuidditch wouldnt be the same without people cheering from the stands.  Games well played, every one of them!
Quidditch Interview with Billy Raven
By Cauly Hauster

What are your team's strengths?
Communications! And going over and over the rules and our team Captain and Co-Captain.

What are their weaknesses?
I'm not sure we have any and I'm not trying to brag. Maybe sometimes timing, like getting everyone on at the critical times. Our time zones vary.

What, probably, describes your best played game?
Mine? I played Chaser once and scored and as Beater, our last game probaby was one of our best.

Which one got most exciting?
It's a toss up between our last game against Ravenclaw and this last one with Gryffindor. Both had a lot of things in play and positions being changed around and back. Scoring was tough in both, but being a Beater, I found it turns out to be a pretty important part of the game and is exciting.

What is your favorite thing about Quidditch?

Well...winning. LOL Actually just having the chance to interact with other houses who love the game and play hard. I like actions and reactions to things going on in the game and the stands! It's always great to see people in the stands cheering for either team and trying to out do each other with banners and cheers.

At what point in your final game did you think that you would win the game?
I am afraid I had no idea until the Snitch was caught. I could have gone either way all the way though the game even if we had more goals, Gryffindor could still have pulled it out.

When, if any time, do the games make you nervous?
During the interceptions! When the Quaffle is being passed around and the Chasers from both sides can step in anytime and take the ball away! That is when I get most nervous.

What has been the best play, yet?

Well, Sapphire catching the Snitch is right up there, but I think anytime our Chasers have the ball is always the best play.
Congrats to Crossguard
By A Penshire Contributor

The Penshire Quidditch team would like to offer up a hearty congratulations to Gryffindor keeper Gawyn Crossguard for his performance in their last quidditch match.  After saving three goals in a row, the Penshire chasers were just about losing itand were racking their brains trying to figure out how to get past this mighty Lion keeper.  It was definitely the hardest game wed had thus far in terms of making the ball go through the hoop, and we wanted to congratulate Crossguard on a job well done in doing his job and successfully forcing all of the Penshire players pull their hair out in frustration during the last game.

Penshire for the Cup!
By Samuel Craft

By now, news had probably spread throughout the castle that the Crafty Cranes, Penshire's Quidditch team, defeated Gryffindor in their last Quidditch match of the year. After another successful win, the Penshire team had managed two successful, undefeated, years of Quidditch. With that being said, that then means the house of Penshire will claim the Quidditch Cup for another year. As the new term begins, the Penshire team plans to grow strong in strategies and spirit. Therefore, all of the other teams should watch out for the Crafty Cranes as you never know what we might do the next time you fae us on the Quidditch Pitch!
New Penshire Quidditch Captain
By Bryony Casten

After two magnificent years of captaining the Crafty Cranes and an unbelievable record, I am officially stepping down from the position.  Ive had a really super time and I couldnt have asked for anything moreI got to play with an outstanding team, against outstanding teams every single game.  This season and the last were more fun than I ever could have hoped for.  Next year, however, Penshire will see a new captainSamuel Craft has agreed to once again step up to the plate, and he will be leading the team with a still-undecided co-captain.  I look forward to playing again next year under (slightly) new leadership, and give a huge thank-you to the entire Penshire team who played this yearyou guys are the best!
