Cheerleading Chatter
By Melanie Monopoly

I know that many houses have cheerleading squads(possibly all of them), but the squads never have a way to stay connected with new ideas about cheerleading. This article, which will be monthly, will provide you with all the latest happenings and innovations in the Hogwarts cheerleading world. The goal is to make your squad the best it can be...and educate you all the while. Even if you're not on your house's cheerleading squad, it'll give you an inside scoop into the world of cheerleading. And, for those on cheerleading squads, it'll give you ideas for your own squad.

Whether you like it or not, cheerleading has always been a needed addition to Quidditch games. Teams from different houses will yell out cheers and release banners, fighting for their team's victory. Their cheers give the Quidditch teams confidence and support.

The 4C's (Chaos Claws Cheer Crew), Ravenclaw's residential cheerleading squad, have always done a wonderful job in cheering on their team. Lately, the crew has been working toward a new kind of cheerleading, which is worth taking note of. The captain of the squad has been starting to put their cheers to movements, like cheerleading squads do in real life. Although they only have one cheer to movements so far, more are on the way. It seems minor, but the 4C's could be changing the way we cheerlead at Hogwarts.
Want ideas for your own squad? Well, if you don't cheerlead in real life, there are tons of websites out there to help you.

Cheerleading.about.com has lots of cheerleading info. Go to the left side of the page and you can pick from a large selection of cheerleading information. They have photos of different teams' stunts, and include tons of cheers your squad can use. Want more? Try typing in "cheerleading stunts" in Google or Google images. You never know what you'll find!
Another New Book!
By Beonca Aims

The house had a great time in our dinner in the Great Hall with both Professor Snape and Professor Bliss sitting at the student table. After the initial shock of having them there, the trouble wasnt far behind because Threatspimp the house squid sat with Professor Bliss and has such admiration for our HOH, he would do anything to please him. Professor Snape jokingly wondered out loud how far the eight-arm squid could throw mash potatoes and wanting to please, Threatspimp tossed an appendage full of smashed veggie in the direction of the staff table. I wont mention who the target wasyoull have to read the book. I will say food was flying and many in the students from other houses got covered in gooey food! Then the snakes started turning on each other, but I will leave you with this teaser and be watching for the book in the library, you will laugh out loud just like we did when we were there.
Belated Resolutions
By Kaylee Keigwin

Rather than conduct our resolutions right at the New Year, as those other foolish wizards do, the house of Gryffindor decided to let the year sink it a little before we decided what we wished to change. So, now that we are four months into the year, we have a more accurate account of what we would like to happen, and what we have resolved to change.

Gawyn Crossguard replied with the following list:
-Go diving in an outdoor pool on New Year's day at 12:00 A.M. no matter how cold the air or water might be.
-Take Professor Opal's Astronomy class, like I said I would.
-Take classes to gain small plane's pilot and super huge dragon pilot licenses.

Audrea, however, had a different approach, and replied with, "ask me after Christmas, I don't even want to think about New Years". We'll get back to her in a couple of months (although it's already April), and she if she's changed her mind.

Roxanne came up with:
- Finish all class exams
- Do something fancy when the clock rings on New Years
- Take Leah on a dragon ride
- Take over Gryffindor with Cinna

While Leah Black said:
- Get healthy. I'm a terrible eater, and someday I'll wish I hadn't been.
- Pass Latin. My report card will just look so much shinier without Fs on it.
- Get a routine. I have time-management issues.
- Elude Roxanne when she and Kalie impose dictatorial rule on us ALL and I'm forced to become Stephen Colbert's clone. Or just get a really spiffy job working for their Secret Police.

Kalie Black resolved to:
- Stop this stupid procrastination nonsense because clearly all those times I say I'll start my assignment as soon as I get home from school I never really meant it. And furthermore, obviously when I further push it off to 11:00, I'm never really going to do it. I need to start saving myself the trouble of realizing that at 11:00 I'm not in the mood to do homework anyway. I may as well just go asleep rather than staying up until all hours in anticipation of homework.
- Get healthy. I really need better health. It's starting to get ridiculous. I have over seven different doctors and none of them ever seem to do much of anything, anyway.
- Laugh more. Stop worrying so much about stupid things and just live.
- Write, dang-it. For someone who wants to be a writer I think I've shown a remarkable reluctance to work on any of my projects. You want to be published before you graduate college? Then write.
- Take over the common room, the world, the universe with Soxie, of course. I'd be innocent about it, but quite frankly, there's nothing innocent about it.

And Hermy_own came up with a simple list of four:
- Stop Procrastinating
- Join Classes
- Earn more points for Gryffindor!
- Stop fighting with my brother

Hilary Stevens came up with some practical resolutions:
-Actually do some classes. Out of the four non-RP ones, I've done all of two lessons.
-RP more. Any RP I start seems to die a quiet death. I really want to make an active one for once.
-Have 10,000 posts by this time next year. I reckon I can do it if I try hard enough...

And, finally, Cissa Daniels had this to say:
1) Get to know Everyone in Gryffindor.
2) Help around the house
3) Find myself throughout the castle and house
4) This one known a lot Stop the insane Procrastination
5) Join Classes Even though I mighta joined too late
6) Wake up early
7) Become a Minion
8) Have fun Duh. Drr
9) Stop Slacking off
10) Complete my work
11) Help out in the Gazette stuff
12) Learn how to spell Correctly.
Interview with Vlad
By Makalya Malfoy

Penshire Cranes are please to introduce some new students to our amazing house. They include Adrianna Reyes who has done very well of opening up and it seems like she feels welcomed more and more. They also have welcomed some one backME!!! Also we had the joy of having the Foreign Exchange student from Durmstrang join our house, Vladimir Kalinnikarovsky (pronounced Ka-lin-nik-ar-ov-sky), and I had the joy of sitting down and having an interview with him.

Vlad is a third-year exchange student from Durmstrang, eager to be a part of the student body at Hogwarts. Skilled with charms, having the ability to create almost anything he can think of. He's very mechanically-minded, which enables him to repair small Muggle items as well as some charmed objects. He hopes to graduate and return to Durmstrang as a professor.

Q: What made you decide/why were you chosen to be and exchange student here?
A: I chose to be an exchange student because of personal concerns over the curriculum at Durmstrang. I didn't like the courses offered and thought it would be better at Hogwarts.

Q: Whats your favorite part of Hogwarts?
A: My favorite part of Hogwarts has been the people. So many nice people offering to help me, all of them very friendly.

Q: What would you say about the people you have met so far?
A: Very different. In a good way.

Q: Did you feel welcomed when you first came in the Penshire common room doors
A: I did. Penshire's students and faculty have been so welcoming to me, I feel right at home.

Q: Is there anything the Cranes can do to make you feel more welcomed?
A: Hmm...I'm not sure. I'm still quite new here, and trying to get my bearings. Perhaps in the future?

Q: Do you feel you were placed in the right house here?
A: Without a doubt.

Q: Why is it you were placed in this house, or why do you think you were?
A: I believe I was placed in Penshire because of my unique origins.

Q: Did you have Quidditch back home?
A: Durmstrang has some of the finest players in the world

Q: Did you play?
A: I did, but never on an organized team.

Q: What position?
A: Whenever I would play, I was usually a Beater.

Q: Would you ever consider joining the Penshire Team here?
A: I would think about it, but I must confess that I'm not that

Q: Favorite spell at home or here? (as for i dont know if spells are different)
A: My favorite spell would be Reparo. It's so useful for minor repairs.

A: Whats the main difference between your home and here?
Q: Hogwarts is almost twice the size of Durmstrang. The teachers and prefects are much more relaxed here

Q: Favorite Candy?
A: Peppermint Humbugs. They remind me of home.

Q: Any past information you would like to share?
A: I was good at charm classes back at Durmstrang. I love to tinker and create interesting things.

Q: What are your future goals?
A: I hope to finish my studies at Hogwarts, then to return to Durmstrang to teach

Q: Do you miss home much?
A: I do miss it a little bit, but I've been very busy so I haven't had time to miss it too much.

Well Im glad you like It here at Hogwarts and we are so pleases to have you here. Thank you for all the information! Im sure youll make a lot of friends here.
