Slytherin Scoop!
By Beonca Aims

The house is busy working on a new book for the library, and the latest edition of the Daily Prophet. The Slytherins thought the last issue was one our best and hoped everyone took a copy, keep your eyes out for the next issue, its a keeper! We are celebrating our new Assistant Head of Houses arrival with an RPG in the Great Hall and needless to say it has been a big success which might have something to do with Professor Blisss pet squid and his aim. *whistles innocently* Did someone say food fight? I would share some Quidditch thing the Silver Serpents are working on, but then, I would have to slit your throat afterwards. We have had a couple new students arrive and are set for a clean-out come the end of March. We also are working on our Blood Oath but cant tell you about that either or, well, you get the picture. This is why we have a hard time writing these scoop articles because we are so secretive and it is really none of your business! LOL!
A Place to Call Home: The Slytherin Family Tree
By Eltanin Wemyss

Anyone who has not heard the song "I'm My Own Grandpa" cannot fully understand the chaos that is the Slytherin "family tree". Even a few of the Slytherins have difficulty setting out exactly who belongs where.  After spending a few hours plugging away at it, sorting through conversations and threads and fiddling with family tree software that will only trace one side of a family or the other, I finally set out the family tree, once and for all.

The tree started with our own Allegra, who is Olive of Ravenclaw's sister. Olive has no children. Ally has an unknown husband, who has a sibling of unspecified gender; this sibling has one daughter, Jess. The unknown father's father has two siblings. One of those siblings has three children--Riley, Beonca (who is adopted), and myself. The other sibling has two
children--Cole and house newcomer Professor Bliss.

Moving into the next generation, Ally and her unknown husband have nine children: Gred, Jenii, Andrew, Sera, Arien, Hallie, Nic, Ali, and JUNK. JUNK  and her "widower"--Professor Snape, who has remarried to Professor Bliss--had three children, Logan, Severus, and Ginny. Gred and his wife, Sasha of Huffepuff, have four children: Rayne, Faith of Penshire, and Anna and Crystal of Hufflepuff. Nic is married to Viktor, and they have two children--Oriana, and Erica of Ravenclaw.

Logan has one daughter, Sukiro, another newcomer to Slytherin. Ginny also has one daugher, Gabriella.  Erica has one daughter, Luna of Ravenclaw. Luna has five children: Jolie, Emma, Lucius, and Dawlish of Ravenclaw, and Keato of Penshire.

Despite the many generations, the complicated relationships, and the several houses to which our "family" belongs (although you will note that there is not a single Gryffindor in the tree), the SFT is a close-knit group, who will stick up for each other through anything.
Penshire Prattle
By Billy Raven

We got some new students this past week or so with Christina Crush, Cara Riccio and Newton (Newt) Merrick coming to the common room. We have made the welcome party for Professor Simbi into a PJ party and are now playing charades with Professor Ripley doing the first one, they are movies, and with her expressive nature, Cauly was able to guess the first title which was Titanic! We were excited to share a couple games with the whole school and the discussion on which one went on for a while, but we were satisfied with our choices. The thread about Survivor has been revised of late with the talk about Jonathan having to leave the game and some of the challenges and alliances changing around. The games area is always a great place to spend time and I cant tell you which is the most popular game because everyone has their favorites so they always go well into two pages of latest posts. Our RPGs too have been going strong with some having been going for over 5 months of activity; you cant say we Shirelings dont have commitment!
Gryffindor versus Penshire: Battle for Points
By A Penshire Contributor

At the end of February the house of Penshire challenged the house of Gryffindor to a Point-War.  The rules: Earn as many (legal) points in the month of March as possible and post them on the BB.  The stakes: Well points.  Its one of those situations where even if you lose, you still win.  Those are the best kind of competitions (at least in this writers opinion!)

The competition started out with strong words on both sides, Gryffies insisting on a Lion win and Pennies instating that would never happen.  Although neither side has posted that many points just yet on the BB, you can bet your knickers that both houses are working hard or, since I can only speak for my house, you can bet that Penshire is working hard.

Cranes have been finishing up lessons, writing articles, joining clubs, and participating in all manner of other point-earning activities.  Although at the time this article was written it is was still too early to tell which house was victorious, the verdict should be out by now so good effort both houses and congrats to everyone!
The Crane Train
By Penshire #3

As March rolled in so did four new members of Penshire!  The Crane Train would like to welcome Christina Crush, Newton Merrick, Jessica Childs, and Cara Riccio to the house of Penshire!  All new members are jumping right into the swing of things, posting in the games forums and getting to know people, signing up for classes, and getting right into house activities!  Were excited youre here and hope that youre all in it for the long haul!  Welcome to Penshire!
Penshire Prattle
By Ava Black

Penshire had a great month!  We won our latest Quidditch Match against Ravenclaw.  We have been taking some time to get to know our new Assistant Head of House, Professor Simbi.  We are currently challenging Gryffindor in a Point-War but the outcome of that will have to be published next issue! We welcomed four new students : Jessica Childs, Newton Merrick, Cara Ricco and Christina Crush to the common room.  It has been a good month.
A Ravenclaw Stalker!?
By Anonymous

In the last few weeks, a dark shadow has been seen lurking around the RCR. This is cause for some commotion among the Raves. Apparently, there is a stalker among the house members, and the Ravenclaws are uneasy. Little is known about this so called stalker, only that a glimpse of long curly pink hair has been seen. Ariene Callahan, who has been suspected, merely scoffs at the idea that she is the Ravenclaw Stalker. Luna Lovegood, Summer Levy, Eki Rasko, and Gred Weasley are among the victims. Coincidentally, three of the four are suspected good friends of Miss Callahan. Perhaps Callahan's frienship has taken on a more sinister role? After the robberies from last month, Ravenclaws feel that perhaps the house has taken on more sinister members. Miss Callahan could not be reached for comment, and the finger still points in her direction. Several comments made from BB and RCR spam sessions have indicated that Ariene is indeed the culprit. May this serve as a warning to YOU Miss Callahan, we have our eyes on you!
New Ravenclaws
By Ariene Callahan

This month has brought several new additions to the house of Ravenclaw. We have welcomed them, now we'd like the rest of Hogwarts to as well. So please, once again, give a magical and warm welcome to the newest Ravens on the block: Porthos Figg, Gabriella Willow, Evelyn Fueture, Emilee Rose, miss_potter356, JamesLupinSr, and Shannon. Some of these members are already active and have learned their way around the castle. We can't wait and see what these newbies have in store for us :) Welcome to Ravenclaw!
Ravenclaw Re-Evaluated
By Ariene Callahan

With the up and coming sixth house, where "thinkers, dreamers, and inventors" are bound to find their home, Ravenclaw is left with a sense of emptiness. Smarts and wit, have always fueled Ravenclaw, often separating those from the other houses. Thinkers are naturally an aspect of what makes a Claw. However, no hard feelings. We in Ravenclaw have come up with some criteria of our own. This is what we feel makes a Claw a Claw.

* Cake Lovers
* Worshipped Persons
* Cranky, Denture Wearing, Wrinkled [senior] Prefect
* Ninjas
* Stalkers
* Nargle Fearing Persons
* Givers of Nicknames
* Minions
* Lucius Malfoy

If you have answered yes to any of these points, then perhaps you are a Ravenclaw. The sorting hat should do well to recognize these traits of a Ravenclaw. Imagine the sorting hat come next term, instead of the ancient and famous verse about Ravenclaw, a new verse will shout out above the rest,

"Or yet in cake loving Ravenclaw,
Where those of the ninja and Lucius mind
Shall always, with the help of cranky prefects
Find their stalked and nargle fearing kind,"

With a large and eccentric student body, Ravenclaw has suddenly emerged above the rest as a place to express yourself. To be a little odd, and make yourself stand out among the masses. So we may feel that the new house "encroaches" on Ravenclaw territory a bit, but we've more than made it up with the entertaining and lively new generation of Ravenclaws.
Hufflepuff Happenings
By Zoey Taylor

This month in Hufflepuff we've had a good time as we've really welcomed our new AHOH, Professor Dickinson. I think she's going to be great for us. We've also got a new crew of active people in there lately including December Rae Lovegood, Teagan Kincade, Julia Rose Antea, Harmony Hill, and Kelsie Mcgonnagle.

The house has been getting more active lately and this week we are all doing an egg decorating contest for Easter and are excited about that. We've also revamped our Hufflepuff Co-Op's so if everyone should be sure to check them out!
Confessions of a New Hufflepuff
By Teagan Kincade

I have been at PADs for only two months now, but the time here has been well spent! I am even already involved in Quidditch (probably the most fascinating game of all time by the way)!!! It is simply great fun in the common room. I post whenever I get the chance with the many great people in there. So far, the craziest of us have been Ron Weasley, Julia Antea, and myself, but I am also in a couple of RPGs with December, Julia, Zoey, Isabelle, and a few others.

The buzz for contests, posting and RPG wars, Chit Chat Mania, Quidditch, and above all, having fun is always at an all-time high, and I always feel a great excitement when I first enter the common room, looking to see who else is present. I can't speak for everyone, but this is quickly becoming the coolest place I've ever been to. Thanks, all you Huffies for welcoming me so warmly! <3 And as for the rest of you I've met, I can't wait to keep getting to know you all better!
Easter Egg Contest Winners!
By December R. Lovegood

This weekend, Hufflepuff house voted on the wonderful Easter egg designs that people submitted! There were six entries in all, and every one of them was wonderful, and in the end, the voting ended in a tie! Julia Rose Antea and Natalie Corvin both tied as winners, and were each given a basket of Easter candy, Hufflepuff socks, and fifty galleons courtesy of Professor Lockhart as their prize! So congradulations you two, you did a fabulous job with your entries, and enjoy those fifty galleons, the two of you surely deserve them.
Point War Officially Begins!
By a member of the winning house - Gryffindor!

That's right! Penshire challenged Gryffindor to a point war! We are unsure as to why, but all we know is that they're in for a treat. Everyone in Gryffindor is extremely excited and already forming strategies for success! I won't go into detail, for I don't want these ideas stolen, but I can assure that we are cooking a recipe for victory.
Mentor Program Comes to Gryffindor!
By Lainey Vaux

The long awaited mentor program has finally come to Gryffindor! The staff of Gryffindor have put forth a tremendous effort, and now newbies can really get the help that they need. I know that when one comes to Hogwarts, it can be incredibly frustrating to be on this site, and not have anyone to guide you on a one-to-one sort of basis like a mentor would. So for the first couple of months I was here, I was basically completely and utterly lost - and now, the new mentor program can change that, and newbies don't have to worry about all sorts of things like that now.
Gryffindor Embraces the 21st Century
By Lynn Jennings

Being the ever-so-supportive people we are as Gryffindors, in one conversation or another, we were talking about putting together a bunch of links for easy access. Well, wheels started turning and before you know it, the idea to create the Gryffindor Home Page was born! This site, which will be a combined effort of all Gryffindors who want to help, will have links, contact information, FAQ's and much more. The goal of this homepage is to help new coming Gryffindors feel as welcome to the lion's den as possible. While still under construction, we hope for it to be as helpful as possible.
I wonder what could pop up next...?
Not even curious? Might as well urn around, then...
