| Badger Brawl
By Adrianna La Cerva The badgers have been hard at work, earning as many points as they could in the latest Badger Point Brawl. Each month, the house comes together in a friendly competition for galleons and bragging rights, to see who can earn the most points for the house. In our latest match, the Hufflepuffs bulked up their hourglass with over 3500 points! Our September winner was none other than Zela Marionettie who earned 1545 points for the house. Way to go Zee, you've got Hufflepuff pride! Until next time, Brawl on Badgers! |

| Gryffindor Gossip
By Megan Miller and Kalie Black It's been awhile since there's been much Gryffindor Gossip to report, but this month, we're back and we've got tons of juicy tidbits to tell you about. February is said to be the month for hooking up, but not this time. This month, with every passing day, more and more Gryffindors seem to be hooking up. The number of couples in the Lion's Den seems to be rising along with the number of guys. It seems that it's only a matter of time before every one in Gryffindor is hooked up with someone at the rate we're going. One new couple is a pair of shy second years Adam Crawford Jr., who gives Gawyn Crossguard some competition in the blushing field, and Rose Wick. Although these two aren't technically a confirmed couple, anyone who sees them together can't help but find them an adorable pairing. Another fairly new couple is Zack Galman, 2nd Year, and Narcissa-Rae Crystal, 3rd Year. Although, they seem to be relatively happy together, recent events at the Gryffindor Family Reunion may bode ill for these two lovebirds. The meeting between Zack and Narcissa's parents didn't seem to be a success, but so far they seem to be going strong. There's another couple, Cornelia Potter and Jason Dasey, but as of now they've managed to stay under the radar. Our last couple for this issue is two first years, Lily Duncan and Wedge, often called 'Wedgie' by his adoring fans. There may be love in the air, but that doesn't mean that everything's perfect. Roxanne Whitez and Gawyn Crossguard have been together now for quite awhile, and rumor has it that Roxanne even brought her gentleman home to meet her family. At the Gryffindor's Family Reunion, however, Roxanne Whitez entered the Great Hall to find Leah Black kissing Gawyn. It wasn't much of a surprise when the brunette slapped her distant cousin. Though they seem to have worked everything out, recently, the two Prefect Assistants were seen in the Common Room with Topher Davenport. They were overheard to be discussing 'The Kiss' and Leah seemed rather nervous. One can only wonder what will happen between these two couples. Perhaps we'll find out more soon. Until next time, we hope you have enjoyed this month's gossip. |

| New Arrivals
By Megan Miller and Kalie Black Slowly, the first of September approached us, and with it, brought a flock of new students who were anxious to be sorted and begin their magical training and education. Gryffindor received an almost overwhelming amount of first years eager to participate in everything available to them, from activities to events to classes. It was quite a shock compared to the very few new students we receive throughout the school term, but we are nonetheless pleased to welcome them to the Lion's Den. We hope that their arrival is only the beginning of the new students who will find their way to our house and assist in the competition for the House Cup. Once again, we find that the number of boys in Gryffindor has risen with these new arrivals. But of course, the girls still outnumber them. And now, without further delay, we welcome the following people on behalf of Gryffindor House. The new students are, as follows, Cassie Pandora, Madge Jhick, Chris Lastor, Samantha Taylor, Albert Ball, Johnny Bags, Thander Backer, Jason Dasey, Karl Untiedt, Tim Cahill, Mia Hamm, Callum McFeed, Khareen D., Nyesha Tonks, Natalie, Nymphadora Lupin, Alex, Ville Valo, Audrey Knox, and Maya Beckham. We welcome them to Gryffindor House and hope that they enjoy their time with us. |

| Chaos Claws Tryouts
By A Quidditch-Obsessed Raven The Ravens have been anticipating the new Quidditch season of 2007-2008, and after a two-part tryout, as well as the release of the adjusted Quidditch rules, the Chaos Claws captain and co-captain, Myrrima Goldenleaf and Raelyn Ethania, have announced the team roster for our first match against Gryffindor starting October 5th. For the tryouts, the captains had Quidditch quizzes concerning the rules of which each participant had to complete. This gives them the knowledge of who understands the rules. However, our clever captains Myrrima and Raelyn have then sprung up with the surprise second part to the tryouts! Yes, it was a practice game of Quidditch. This would allow our captains to observe their ability to apply the Quidditch rules. With that all done, the roster seems very promising, so watch out for the Chaos Claws this season! We'll see you at the match on October 5th. |

| An Abundance of Posting
By Summer Levy It seemed so long ago when I had started spamming and earning posts. I can even remember the time when our dear Head Boy, Cedric Cenn Falad, had the same number of posts as I do. And then the time when Cho Chang and I were battling it out, posting and posting to beat each other to be the Raven with the most posts in the RCR. Now, it seems like three new individuals have taken Ravenclaw by storm! The first is our witty Luna Lovegood, who has been posting at an outrageously fast pace, regardless of flood control. She has posted her way up to our top five posters, having joined just in March! Following closely is someone possibly with the same genes as our beloved Luna, for they share the same surname. Yep, it's Erica Lovegood! Sure, Luna has posted at a fast rate, but that is nothing compared to the rate Erica posts at! She has joined in July, and now joins us in the top ten posters in the RCR. As well, special honorable mention goes out to Arya Drottningu, who joined on the same day as Erica, and follows her example in making her way to the top ten posters. Who is next to make their way up the posting ranks? Who knows? But it seems like they have taken up the mission of beating yours truly in the number of posts. I wish them good luck, and I wait for that day. =P |

| Most Popular New Slytherin
By Viktor A wave of new Slytherins has been seen lately in the Slytherin common room and they have proved themselves to be very active indeed. Amongst them, Ginerva Winter, fondly known as Eva among her friends has seen as a very popular Slytherin of late since she joined more than a month. She has been nominated and won a landslide victory over the other newly joined Slytherins in the recently held New Slytherin of the Month poll. But however, this soft-spoken, sweet First Year seemed as humble as any other Slytherin in the house. However, not many know that she was first shocked when she was first sorted to Slytherin. I was a little shocked actually. My older brothers were in Hufflepuff, but I know that my grandfather was a Slytherin. Eva confessed. She suited herself into the house with little difficulty and played a pivotal role in the house by her active posting in the Games regularly and her friendly nature that attracted many friends in Slytherin. This popular girl actually credits her close friend Oriana Bloom, a third year Slytherin, whom the girl thanked for helping her get around in Slytherin and she thinks they both have many interests in common which helped them get along better. Ginerva who was recently seen at the Start of the Term of dance, with Penshire student, Keato Abbot, was full of thanks to all her Slytherins who had chosen her and nominated her for the New Slytherin of the Month. She had advises newly joined Slytherins to play a very active role by earning points by joining clubs, getting to know people and trying their very best in classes. Thank you so much! I'm going to try to live up to the title as best I can! Ginerva thanked all those who voted for her. Ginerva is seen as a potential role-model for new Slytherins with her kind nature and her pride for the house. It was a good thing that the sorting hat sorted her into Slytherin after allor they would have missed out such a good member as Ginerva Winter. |

| Slytherin of the Month
By Viktor In a recently conducted Slytherin of the Month, to determine the most popular and favorite, Jenii Chang came out as everyones favorite Slytherin with overwhelming support from the serpents. Been a very active member of Slytherin for over a year, she can be described as one who is a very sweet and pleasant person to talk to as well as someone who is extremely helpful and one you can always go to for any help of any kind. However, this second year Slytherin admitted facing some challenges when she first joined Slytherin as actually admitted that she wouldnt have been able to deal things all on her own if not for the help of her close friends that includes former Slytherin, now Professor Riddle, Jennifer Kull and everyones favorite Professor Rosehill, whom she confessed had helped her countless of times while she was here. Jenii is also a really responsible leader, been a Prefect Assistant, she also helped out new Slytherins by assigning them to Mentors and helping them get around in the common room and the school. She also showed her kindness by sharing her ideas on the recently debated Vampire rule issue, to help the vampires in her house feel more home. Jenii has shown time to time that she is a very good role model to her fellow Slytherins and been recently promoted to one of Slytherins Prefects, she takes up many lessons and has promised to do a lot more to help the house earn more points this term. The Slytherin of the Month also advises her fellow Slytherins to write articles and join club and also sign up for classes. It can be said that this loyal and responsible girl, still had a lot of plans for her house and her contributions are been well appreciated. It doesnt come as a surprise now that she is a very loveable girl in the house now |
