SOT Feast
By Jennifer Kull (JUNK)

Another successful Start of Term Feast at PADs! There is a thread completely full of posts on the Bulletin Board solely for the purpose of everyone posting their outfits. I myself was slightly surprised with some of them, but also pleased that all seemed to have gone to a lot of trouble to choose just the perfect one! The RPG for the feast on the BB is also completely full of posts. I find it difficult to keep up with myself, since there are so many things going on in there, but it is rather funny to read sometimes! I'm just glad that so many got involved.

As for the dance itself, every time I entered, there were no less than half a dozen people! I usually expect a couple of people, just waiting around for someone new to come in, but there seemed to always be a plethora of topics being posted back and forth, and that was fun in itself. I would like to thank those new friends I made this dance for being so super! ^_^ There was not one situation where I found a lull in the conversation, dancing, or otherwise.

YAY for a new term, and congrats to everyone who made the dance a success! I sure cannot wait until the Halloween one now. :D
Student Council of 2007-2008
By Summer Levy

Applications have been received, and from that came a group of selected students that form the PAD's Hogwarts Student Council for the new school term of 2007-2008. Congratulations to the following students:

President - Roxanne Whitez of Gryffindor, who was the Gryffindor Representative/Treasurer for the term of 2006-2007
Vice-President Kalie Black of Gryffindor, who was President for a brief period of time for the term of 2006-2007
Secretary Luna Lovegood of Ravenclaw
Treasurer Joe Nworb of Ravenclaw, who has hosted the PAD's Olympics in association with the Student Council
Ravenclaw Rep. Will Potter
Gryffindor Rep. Adam Crawford Jr.
Slytherin Rep. Allegra Saxe Attenburgg
Hufflepuff Rep. Zela Marionette
**Penshire Rep. we are still looking for someone to fill this position! If interested, please contact Prof. Delia

This past year, the Student Council has played a larger role in the student society of Hogwarts, bringing to you house chats, the Owl Gazette, and many others. As President of the 2006-2007 Student Council, I would like to thank my trusty Vice-President Raelyn Ethania (who was Treasurer for a short period of time), our organized Secretary Bryony Casten (who was the Penshire Rep. for a brief period of time), the hardworking Treasurer Roxanne Whitez (who will succeed me as President for this coming term), and all our house representatives. Good job to all of you, and I enjoyed working with you. We have all worked hard together for this term and brought many things to the students, and I am sure that Roxanne will bring the Student Council to a whole new level and plan more events for the student body here at Hogwarts.
And lastly, I'd like to thank Prof. Delia for helping us students plan events and activities for the whole school. It wouldn't be possible without her.

And thus, this comes to an end to a great year on the Student Council. It is certainly a life-changing experience, and you, the readers, should certainly consider applying next year. Plus, it looks good on your rsum and can take you far in life. Best wishes to the Student Council of 2007-2008.
Monthly Contests Winners
By a Slytherin

So the waiting is over and the winners are found. Last months Monthly contests have been exciting, a challenge to some, while it was great fun to othersand all in all every submitting party can be proud on their entry!

The contests and yes, this time there were two options to chose between have been both: a great idea, and an awesome asset to the already huge offer of shops around. Professor Lockhart asked the students to create either their own personalized Post Office (Hogsmeade), their own creative Gambles & Japes Joke shop (Diagon Alley), or even both!

Each created submission has been original and creative...and earned the participating houses 100 points each. And although each and every one of those would deserve to be hooked up, there can only be one. The winning entries came from Hufflepuff and Slytherin, where Hufflepuff has made the race for the Gambles & Japes Joke shop, and Slytherin the one for the Post Office. Congratulation to both houses, and their individual creators!

Watch out for the next Monthly contestafter all it could be you to win. So stay tuned and look out when Professor Lockhart calls out the next competition of the submissions!
PAD's Olympics
By Joe Nworb

At the end of the 1st PADs Olympics, Gryffindor was holding up a trophy high. The PADs Olympics was an experimental competition, playing for prize money for school supplies. Gryffindor was a late entry in the competition, but they still managed to get enough points to win it all. For the first year, it was pretty good, but a higher turnout is expected for the next one. If you would like to help set up or sponsor the next Olympics, please contact me either on the BB or at [email protected].  Thank you for all people participating in the action!!
Vampires
By a Slytherin

Since the new rules for Vampires have been posted, there has been an uproar of some Vampires at our school, others were just disappointed, and even others had not the slightest idea that these rules were affecting them as well. To bring this all to an end, and to clear some things up, we are here now. So, sit up straight and let the following enter your mind.

Who is affected by the new rules about Vampires?
EVERY Vampire, whether or not you are half or full. You have to follow these guidelines if you have just so much as a hint of vampire inside of you.

Which classes are you allowed taking?
As a Vampire, you are not allowed to enter sunlight, since what every child knows you will be nothing else than a heap of dust. So, to protect our fellow Vampires from this destiny, you are only allowed to take Potions, and Paranormal Phenomenon, which are both situated at the Dungeons. However, dont be afraid. If you chose to take these classes, you will have enough work to do, since you can take all levels (101 104) of Potions class in one term if you chose to do so.

How do you get your supplies?
According to rule #3, you are prohibited to take shopping excursions because shops are only open during the day. So, a way to get your supplies is by asking your friends to get them for you. And who knows, maybe there will be a shop which will open at night for our vampire friends soon?

How do you sign up for the classes at the Dungeons?
Since the Registration office is located at the 1st floor and usually only open at daytime, you cant go and sign up for yourself. So the best way to go and sign up is through your friends again. I was assured by the Headmistress that no problems would occur if you had your friends sent for the sign-up.

Are you able to complete the monthly challenges?
Since you usually shouldnt be out after hours, one might think you cant go and do those to earn points for your house. However, as the Headmistress said herself, give your luck a chance and sneak out after hoursif you are brave enough.

Can you attend dances and other school activities?
In general you can, if you go and attend those after sunset you remember the dusty issue mentioned earlier? And the Headmistress reassured me that they had their magical way to control if you follow these rulesso no rule-breaking, my dear Vampire friend. :P

What about shops?
One might think Vampires are from now on not able to have shops and earn some extra Galleons with thembut the Headmistress agreed that if you are a Vampire and want to have a shop, you can do the following: go and hire someone who sells your stuff for you during day. You can come at night to check for things and leave your hired people messages to get new things if your shop is doing extraordinary well.

What if I am a Vampire in a house which is NOT located at the Dungeons?
In this case, you have two choices. (Actually three, as the one is altering your biography so you arent a Vampire anymore ;) )
1) You can go and ask to switch to one of the houses which are located at the dungeons. You will have to choose between Hufflepuff and Slytherin.
2) If you dont want to switch and leave your house, you will have to stay in bed and keep your curtains closed until nightfall.
Up to you really.

Can I play Quidditch?
NO! You cant! Since the Quidditch matches take place during day, we had another dusty problem if you wanted to play. And no need to think up solutions such as playing at night either. :P  Think about it: if you wanted to play Quidditch at night, would you still be able to see the Quaffle, Bludgers, and most of all the Snitch? There you go.

What about Clubs?
Unfortunately, you cant join Clubs either. Not just because they arent situated at the Dungeons, but at the Annex Building, but most of all because our clubs dont have nightly meetings like those of the DA in the HP books, and our clubs here dont have a box to submit work either. So, clubs are a no go for you as well.

All those other by now common rules, I wont lose a word about. Just remember to follow those rules and to not put your toe over the border, and youll be fine.
