The Creativity of the Lions
By a young lioness

You have heard about the minds of Gryffindor, muggle learning, and the many opinions of the Gryffindor Students. But have you ever learned about what lies, next to hidden, in the Poems/Songs/Stories/Artwork section of the Gryffindor Common Room?

I interviewed some students of Gryffindor House, asking them of their opinions of the following authors and artists: Hermy Granger, Roxanne Whitez, Kalie Black, Hilary Stevens, and Megan Miller. (And also a writer of choice, just in case a bit of this is confusing)

-----
Kimmie Brandon:
Megan's poetry is basically all about love and the good and bad aspects that come along with it. I love her work, and it mostly touches everyone who reads her writings.

Roxx's poetry is more critical, and sometimes more 'depressed', but beautiful in a way I actually can't describe. Her style of writing influences everyone, and I think to remember that Megan started to write like Roxx, too. But that's no such bad thing. Roxanne usually writes about everything that is going on her mind, and it lets you get a glimpse on what she is feeling. I love her poems very much.

Kalie's stories are...awesome. She loves the Tudors, and therefore these are her favourite subject to write about, of course. I love her stories very much. Her poems are also worth reading, because they are very well written and inspiring as well. I adore her for her writings.

Hil's stories are...just plain cool. You enjoy reading them, and they follow a plot, but are kept exciting because you never know what happens next. They are well written as well, and I am sure that we will see more from her.

The writer I chose is Hermy. I've read a lot of her poems at the Writing Club, and I have to say that I really like them. She has her very own point of view when it comes to things. She expresses her feelings very well, and each time I come across a rather 'sad' poem, like the one she wrote about Linda, I have to watch out to not start to cry. it touches your heart, even if you don't really know the backgrounds behind it, and I think that's very important when you write poems.

Hilary Stevens:
Megan - Emotions. From what I've read of her work it's very much based on feelings and I like that. You get more connected with the story.
Rox - Well, mainly her work's inspired, but creative. Looking at things differently to what I would, which is what writing's all about.
Kalie - To be honest, I've not read much of her work, but I love what I did. The words seem to slide into place. It sounds so natural.
Hermy - For what I have read of her work, I like it. It's different to what I've seen and certainly better than what I could do!!

Gawyn: I can't really say I have a favorite poet. Their writing styles are just complete opposites of each other, so it would be like asking, "Did you walk to school, or carry your lunch?" There's no comparison. I think everyone listed above is ingenious, and they've got infinitely more talent for poetry than I could ever hope to have.

Megan Miller: They're all amazing writers. All of them have their own unique style of writing and their poetry appeals to others who read them in different ways, which is a good thing. They all have their own specific topics that they're best at, but whatever the topic, their poetry is enjoyable and inspiring.
Penshire Curses
Billy Raven

Though, folks, I only did one, the house has been practicing curses and I know, we are 'nice' but as you see, we don't like 'mean' people, so, watch it! Here are a collection of curses the house has come up with, enjoy!

If you don't bail when I am about to slam,
may your head, in the wall, go bam!

If you aren't nice and kind to me
Have an unfriendly encounter with a nasty bee

May those who love us love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.

On my enemies face
I wish you to grace
a boil or two
for all to view!

For the butt-brains who treat you
Like rotten ole' smelly fruit
Let them have a close encounter
With an agitated bruit!

For the one who speaks with a forked tongue
By the toes may he be stung.

For the people with bites
May they find only bad websites?

For those who are rude
may they become a shriveled prune??

All who are mean
shall be obscene

For all the haters
May they fall into deep craters?

If youre naughty.
And not nice.
May you be attacked.
By many white mice!

For the spoiled
may they toil
trying to get rid of boils!!

The people who
Are mean to you
Let them become
Oh so blue

For those who are a snob
may they have trouble using the door knob!!
And eating corn on the cob?

People who are mean
May they have to eat lima beans!

For the rude and obnoxious,
may they find all drinks notious.
Lack of liquids will make them weak,
And thankfully unable to speak!

The stupid people who
Are nasty to you
Let them become so hideous
BECAUSE THEY ARE SOOOOOOOO ANNOYING!!!!

To all of those who me are offending,
May your first-born child be eaten by lemmings.

For the rude
and the crude,
may you find bugs in your food!

If youre not sweet.
And always mean.
May you sleep.
Forever in dream.

You'll think that you,
have lots of rice.
But your head will be,
full of lice

If you are a meanie head,
My you find your cactus dead!
End of Term: A Year in the Life
By Kiley Blaire

On September 24th, 2006, PADs Hogwarts changed forever. Or, perhaps more accurately, it got so much crazier. It was the day your favorite evil-purple-haired thing joined the site, and I haven't left since the first moment I logged in. In the time I've been here I've seen more than my fair share of drama, laughed more than I thought I ever could, and even shed a few tears for some that I became very close to. Why have I been so emotional towards a website, one of the billions of pieces of the internet that float around in cyber space each day? Because I've discovered since that day in September that PADs isn't your standard Harry Potter RPG site. It's a place where friendships are made that can last forever, and where age doesn't decide whether you can participate or not. It's a place where you actually learn something in classes, and where house pride is uberly-important but does not interfere when one wants to interact with other schoolmates. At PADs, it doesn't matter where you come from, what you've accomplished, or who you are in real life. It's just about learning, sharing, laughing, and loving, and no other site I've visited can offer anything as great as that.
Things Im looking forward to
Faith Puppy

As a 1st year Penshire at PADs, who has been away for a while, this is one Shireling that is excited to get back into the groove of things and meeting new members that have joined the house during my time away from it. Since the school term has ended, I cant wait to attend my first ever EOT banquet. I havent been able to meet a whole lot of people from other houses, so the banquet should be a great opportunity for me to chat with others. I cant wait for the next term to start and the Summer Club to open. I hope taking Elvish or German isnt too hard for me to learn. Also as a first year Shireling, itll be my first time seeing my houses common room being cleaned out. Everything will be so empty and different, but Im pretty sure itll be filled up pretty quickly especially in the games area. I just cant wait for the new term to start

The Last and New Term
Kitty Bright (aka Kit Kat)

As a new student here I have to say my first impressions were very, very good! Everyone was so nice and helpful it seemed I'd been here for years even though I've only been here one month. I've learned new things, meet new people, and made new friends and I'm really thankful I joined. Since I joined in the summer I haven't been able to do regular classes and I'm really looking forward to doing them. I also wasn't able to go to the dances and those things but I'm looking forward to the feast coming up. It's really fun and exciting here and I'm sure it will get even better as the months go by.
Zoey's Grandmother to Visit
Thomasina

Zoey Taylor, Prefect's grandmother to come visit this summer. It should be quite an adventure. She looks like a very fun person to be around, very "grandmotherly". I hear she is a very interesting woman with many baby stories to tell about Zoey. I know I am looking forward to visiting with her and hearing informative stories about Zoey's early childhood.
